All lights come on except heater light coul it be tha i changed fro a large propane tant to a small tank

The heater is failing to fire for any number of reasons, not related to the gas. If the heater was functioning properly you would have gotten a "call for heat"; and the ignition device would have activated whether gas was present or not. The service light was telling the truth. Best to get a tech out there to see where the problem is.

Hi pameroo,

I see that you are having issues with your Pool Heater.

I have hear Links that may help you regarding your concern, you also mentioned that it runs about 10mins then stops and a red light says it is heating then the unit comes back on after 30 seconds but there is a heavy smell of propane.

maybe you can check all the connection if there will be any leaks on the machine.
make sure that the line to the Gas tank does not have leaks, turn Off of the Gas connection before doing any troubleshooting...

Manual/Service Manual

See the Links above, the third Links has the Owners manual and the service manual for the Troubleshooting that can help check with your concern.

I hope that this helps.

IT could be the temp is too cold at night and the tank cannot make vapor ie gas, The liquied has to boil inside to make the gas you can get a heat blanket to warm your tank. Ask you gas suppier if they have one.

How much water condenses in a 97 % efficient propane furnace. 5 gal overnight? I would like to know if this is filling up my holding tank.

It's typically less than 5 gallons. However, it is acidic so if your holding tank is metal, corrosion will be a concern.

Let us know if you found this helpful. Good Luck!

Ac not blowing cold after outside temp reaches 98 degrees

Sounds like you have dirty condenser coils. Remove the upper shroud and check the condenser for clean. Take a water hose and gently spray out the coils paying special attention not to bend the coils over with too much pressure. This will allow more air movement through the coils and give you better cooling efficiency.

Hope this helps,

How long will one pound propane tank last

The 16.4 oz propane bottle contains 1.02 pounds of propane.
1.02 lbs propane equals 16.320 oz
16.320 oz equals 22.032 BTU’s.
The RMC-8001SS has two settings, maximum and minimum
The Max setting is rated at 8,000 BTU hour.
22.032 divided by 8,000 equals 2.754 or 2-3/4 hours
The Min setting is rated at 4,500 BTU hour.
22.032 divided by 4,500 equals 4.896 or 4.8 hours

One 16.4 ounce bottle will burn 22.032 BTU’s @8,000 BTU’s per hour for a period of approximately 2-3/4 hours and @ 4,500 BTU’s per hour for a period of approximately 4.8 hours.
