Hi,
Hollow ice cubes are most often cause by insufficient water supply. Icemakers fill for about 7.5 seconds, resulting in about 4.75 oz. (140 cc) of water into the ice cube mold. If there s not enough water pressure available at the fridge, cubes may end up hollow and/or the fill could continue to dribble, eventually causing the fill tube to freeze closed.
pls rate my suggestion.........

Maytag psd245ogr refrigerator, no water, no ice. Started with hollow cubes and over time smaller and less cubes. Finally, no ice in freezer and no water or ice at the door dispenser.

Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects theb you need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.

Hi

Hollow ice is a sign of not enough water going into tray. Replace the water inlet valve or the fill and shut-off valve for problems with both parts. Hollow ice cubes usually indicate a low water problem. This is generally the result of an excess buildup of calcium and other deposits.Replace the self-piercing shut-off valve with a drill-type shut-off valve.Drill a 1/4-inch hole into the pipe and installs the shut-off valve the same way you would have installed the self-piercing valve.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

My 9 month side by side refrigerator

Hollow ice would suggest poor water flow due to a blocked water filter, check the water flow before and after the filter, make sure you flush the water line out before fitting a new filter. Cheers Colin
