Ps3 supports over 1000 ps1 and ps2 titles. Make sure you hook your ps3 up to the internet and download the latest firmware updates. Odds are your system will be able to play all or most of your ps2 games once you update the ps3 online.

Hi Mantu, The PS2 console is capable of playing the following. PS1 games with Black media, CD, CDR, PS2 silver back media. PS2 Blue backed media, PS2 Gold backed media, and DVD. I am not sure if will play DVDR. Does it make a clicking sound as it tries to read the disk?
I had the same problem and it turns out that it is the console. But it is easily remedied. I cannot take credit but follow this link and you will see it is an easy fix.

Be very carefull with accessories for Playstations as ones that are not Sony brand can cause damage/malfunctions with your system. The only ones that should be used that are not Sony brand are ones that Sony has certified for use with their equipment.
