Re: Psp will turn on but will not read any discs old or...

Hi BubbasMom,

Bubbas PSP has a problem with either the UMD laser, or the mechanism that moves it back and forth. Open the UMD door and Clean the lens with a Q-tip lightly dampened with Glass Cleaner. Swab it with the dry end after you use the glass cleaner.
If that doesnt fix it. You probably have something jamming the Laser from moving. Sometimes you can clear this by forcing the laser to move some. You will hear it click a few times. Once you click it a few times on way or another. Try a UMD to see if that fixed it.

Psp can not read disc

Make sure the disc (USB) is clean. Dirty and/or damaged discs can be unreadable.

If this is not the problem, your PSP isn't working right. Either get someone to repair it or return it for a new one.

My psp dosn't read games i had it for a long time.

Take a can of air and blow some on the laser of the drive. This will ensure there is no specs of dust or dirt keeping the laser from reading the games.

If after you do this the PSP still won't read games, then the drive needs to be replaced or get a whole new PSP.

I Have PSP 1001 model

Sucks, I know... But cutting the disc holder sounds all wrong my friend; taking it into a repair center would be cheaper than buying a new one. I know others that Mod their broken PSP and add things like a Hard Drive to it; that's all at your own risk. Moreover, most still go out and buy another PSP that hasn't been modified.
