Hi .have a tricity bendix 1000rpm.. seems to take ages to wash.. what is the timing on a 40 degree wash and a quick cycle

In the early days of Automatic washing machines, manufacturers endeavoured to get the machines to wash rinse and spin as quickly as washing could be done in a twin tub. However the results weren't always good. These days as they don't have to compete with the twin tubs the emphasis is on clothes care and energy saving. so the wash cycle is prolonged without a lot of bashing about and because wash temperatures are very low they need a bit longer in the tub action to achieve the results. Its the heating that costs the money not the tub action. nearly all machines will take up to an hour and a half or longer to wash properly. So you need to change your wash habits to accommodate a long wash time, don't try and do two or three loads in the same day, spread them out over a couple of days. If you are tempted to buy one of the Machines that purport to do washes in half an hour be aware this only applies to items that need freshening up and not normal everyday soiled clothes.

How to spin dry

Hi there
A short history Around fifty years ago the washing machine and the spin dryer were two separate machines. After that came the twin tub, where the two machines were put into one, then we got the washing machine-front loaded. As well as the dryer. Now we have got the dryer and the washing machine combined.
My guess is that you have to push a spin button and decide which speed you want the spin.
good luck

Spinner on twin tub washing machine not spinning

I have had a manatee twin tub washing machine with spinner for two years. When I went to spin dry the first load this evening, it would turn on, but not spin. I read the above entry about another twin tub. I did the following... I unplugged the machine for 1 minute. Plugged it back in, then slowly and carefully turned the spin tub clockwise for 1/4 turn, then counter-clockwise for 1/4 turn. I cannot explain why it worked, but it did. So, try this trick before taking it apart. Good luck!

What does oe mean

all washing machines irrispective front load or top load washes ,rinses and spins. Then you need to take out the clothes and put it in a seperate dryer.
In all in one the clothes are washed rinsed spin then dried too. Hence saving you the effort and also space for having an additional driyer.
Its the in thing now...

Washes fine, drains, will not spin

Well, it sounds like the lid interlock switch is bad. This switch keeps the machine from spinning when the lid is raised. When the switch is bad the washer thinks the lid is up.

Yes, if you have reasonable skills & experience you can fix it yourself.

Look for a hole in the rim under the lid. The switch is under that hole.

Hitachi twin tub spin dryer won't spin and pump out water if I have more than two light items in it. The washer is perfect and I love it. Does it have a belt for the spin that needs tightening or what...

you probably have a sock or some other item in the bottom of your spin tub that is blocking the flow of water out of your spin tub an that prevents the spinner from spinning properly you need a wire long enough to reach in there and remove whatever is blocking it
