SOURCE: Starbucks Barista Burr Grinder (Solis 166) motor does not run

Hi
Remove bean hopper
Remove grounds hopper
Remove timer knob on the side
Turn the grinder upside down
There are 4 slits on the outside edge.
Insert a screw driver into the **** and pry gently outward with a
little downward pressure on the outside until the side slips a bit.
Repeat on all 4 slits and the shell should slide off.
There is a fuse on the side of the motor that will blow and stop the motor. It is a thermal fuse and should be replaced by a qualified tech.

Open the grinder by removing both knobs.
The front knob is held in place by friction. Use two flat head screwdrivers to pry it off.
The side knob is held in by tabs you have to push. Pry forward to expose the tab, and use another screwdriver to press the tab, and use the other screwdriver to press the tab on the other side.
Now look at the bottom of the grinder. There are four tabs on the outer shell, use screwdriver s to pry the tabs to separate the bottom of the grinder from the shell, and pull off the shell. Your fuse should be attached to the motor wiring coil.

SOURCE: starbucks barista burr grinder: the motor runs but

The drive mechanism from the motor to the burrs has failed in some way. It is necessary to disassemble the machine down to the basic components to determine the fault. Good luck!

SOURCE: Our Starbucks Barista burr grinder

Here is a link about a person who had a similar issue. It doesn't answer your question yet but I am searching. When we were looking for a coffee maker last year,I think at BB&B they said that DeLonghi makes all Starbuck's coffee machines. We were disappointed with the DeLonghi.I am checking around to see who makes it though, and possibly an image so I can see better what you mentioned.Greg Will reply again when I find something more.

Hi It could be the timer switch but if you hear the timer move(whirring) it is probably OK. There is a thermal fuse on the motor that will go out and you just have to replace the thermal fuse. Its under the wrap on the side of the motor. Which grinder do you have?

I think when you fix the front burr then you need to loose the middle screw. Then it will fix easily.
But don't run it right away.gently tighten the screw and tight until you feel some tightness .Then start the grinder and tighten or loose it according to your grinding specification

Motor stopped working

Hi
There is a thermal fuse on the side of the motor to prevent the motor from burning up. You can replace the fuse (it is a 103c thermal fuse, crimp it on ) and you should be in for more grinding.
It could also be you timer switch, or bean hopper switch, or a broken tab on your adjustment collar.

My Barista Burr Coffee Grinder suddenly grinds too fine.

If it is any consolation, mine just did the same thing, now takes too long to grind and it is way to fine dispite a thorough cleaning by disassembly.
