Check the wear on the rocker arm bushes and rocker shaft
possible it is so bad that the valves cannot seat properly or the valve clearance has been considerably reduced

Engine run around 5sec and dies

It sounds like you need to clean out your carb, if it runs for only 5 seconds it is using the gas in the bowl and the bowl cannot fill up fast enough to keep up with

Try leaving the choke on which causes more suction in the carb, but I would clean the carb using a torch tip cleaner to clean all the small holes, also remove the Welch plug and clean the hole under the plug the replace the plug with a new one

If you leave the choke on will it run longer, leaving the choke ok causes the more suction in the carb that is on way to test it, another way is to makr sure the the air filter and cover

Turns but will not start

Check to see if the Check Engine Light comes on when you first turn the key on (without cranking the engine). If not, there may be a power issue (fuse). Make sure that you have spark and fuel injector pulses. There may be a chance that the timing belt jumped or broken. Sometimes you can tell by the sound of the engine; rather than the usual sound, it makes when cranking, you may hear the engine cranking unevenly or faster than normal. Sometimes you can tell if the belt is broken by removing the oil fill cap and looking for valve train movement. Otherwise, an engine compression test will sometimes help to diagnose this. Sometimes the timing belt cover has to be removed to check for this condition.

Whilst it was in for the solenoid did they change the spark plug? If not remove it and give it a good clean and check the gap at the end to ensure it is correct. It should tell you what it should be in the manual.
My old lawnmower is a nightmare to start so I try and warm it up before starting.

The engine cranks fine, but it will not turn over

Pull the spark plug and test it for spark or replace the plug and see if it will start. You need three things to occur for any engine to run; Spark,Fuel and air. It seems the air factor is ok, not sure of the fuel factor based on the info provided and spark needs to be verified.

05 f-250 will not start

I sometimes get an air lock. Loosen the cap on the filter housing on top of the engine. You may hear a hissing noise that sounds like air escaping. When you have the cap off turn the key on for a few seconds.( DO NOT CRANK THE ENGINE) This will fill the fuel bowl. Put the lid back on and try to start again. You may have to do this a couple times but it does get air locked at times. Wash off the excess fuel that may splash out before starting the engine.

Try running it again and when it starts to die remove the gas cap and see if it starts to run better. It's possible that the gas tank isn't venting correctly. If that doesn't work post back and we'll try to come up with some other solutions.
