Get on windows 7 p.c
then
http://www.canon-europe.com/support/products/document-scanners/dr-series/imageformula-dr-7080c.aspx?type=drivers

download windows 7 driver and install .
Be careful with 32 bit or 64 bit version however .
The web site link detects your operating system for you

Thank you! New to Windows 7. When you say 'be careful with 32 bit or 64 bit version', can you explain more? Are you talking about the driver version to be downloaded or
    Windows 7?

the driver version has to match the windows 7 version as there are two different types of Windows 7 . However the web site should detect your operating system for you so it may not be an issue .

The driver you are looking for can be located at http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010220.asp

At this page, select Windows 7 as the operating system, and English as the language.

The second result should be the Windows 7 64-bit file that you need.

Tip

Windows Installation Disc VS Windows Upgrade Disc -NOT THE SAME-

Having Trouble Booting To Your Windows Upgrade Disc?

...Upgrade discs aren't bootable discs. To repair a windows installation, you must use either a system repair disc or, better yet, a windows installation disc (genuine Retail/OEM discs are pretty much your only option to completely reinstall your windows operating system, unless you own a previous full installation disc of a previously released Windows version (such as XP or Vista), in which case you could install that windows operating system and then upgrade to a newer windows OS like windows 7. however if you ever need to reinstall windows 7, you would either need to reinstall the older windows OS, then upgrade to the newer one.

If that isn't clear, I'll sum it up....

Let's say you bought a computer, that computer had windows xp home edition. Maybe you wanted to upgrade from Windows XP/Windows Vista or Windows 7?
Well in order to switch from Windows XP/Vista to Windows 7, (or even from Windows 7 home premium- to windows7 Pro or Ultimate), then you must either:
A) Buy an upgrade disc and upgrade to the newer desired version.
B) Or, Buy a Retail Copy of the version you want to install. (keep in mind that a retail Windows 7 disc can be used to perform an upgrade rather than to competely wipe the hard disc and perform a clean install (delete partitions, reformat, and perform a new windows installation), if you so choose.

The bottom line is, you cannot Install a fresh clean copy of windows using an upgrade disc. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and Retail Windows Operation System Installation Setup Discs are "Bootable Discs". Windows Upgrade Discs are NOT bootable. (unless one where to "modify that particular disc, which is not legal).

How to uppdate from Windows Xp into Windows7 I

Well, it depends on your computer specification because every operating system has it own hardware requirements. Before upgrading to windows 7 make it sure your motherboard support the windows 7 operating system. In your case your motherboard supported by the windows 7 so when upgrading rather formatting your computer you must have the windows 7 installer. Then follow this video tutorial on how to setup your computer to windows 7. Before formatting you must have to back up all your data or files saved on your hard drive. Have a nice day

Hi. I am looking for Vista drivers for the Canon DR-7080C. I see some on the Canon Europe website but it says I need to upgrade the firmware and I am not sure which version the scanner has already. Any...

I have many years of repairing Canon scanners and here is my suggestion to you.

You can also get them on the US site also, I will include the link for the drivers in this response. The problem your going to have is that to upgrade your firmware you need a piece of software to upgrade the firmware on your scanner. That piece of software is only released to canon dealers and its also used for diagnostic's of your scanner and to make adjustments to your scanner. I would contact your local Canon dealer, and ask what they would charge you if they came out to do this service for you, or what would they charge you if you brought the scanner to them to cut down on the cost of this very simple update. It only takes a couple of minutes to upgrade your firmware on your scanner. Below is the link to Canon's website for the files you need. I hope this helps you out.

If the 'noise' is in the same place with varying intensity it is definitely dirt on the glass. Clean with Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing Alcohol). Dont use any solvent.

I am using canon lbp 2900 in winxp every few printout it give communication error message while it connected to computer. i have to restart system for further printing

Windows XP is not the latest operating system, and has very limited support on the MIcrosoft website.

Is the Windows XP operating system updated to service pack 3?

I would recommend updating the operating system to windows 7 32 bit in order to solve this problem permanently. It has similar specifications as XP, but will be supported by Microsoft when having such printer problems.

You could, also, try to delete the printer and reinstall the xp drivers for it to see if that works for you, if you choose not to upgrade the operating system.

Good luck on this computer/printer repair.

Ensure you have loaded right drivers for Win 7 or download from http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010035.asp
Win 7 cannot create problems like freezing. It is lot more stable than XP. (I havent tried CapturePerfect with Win 7, but I feel it should work).

Will canon i850 work with window 7

Canon i850 will only work with a Win 7 computer that already has the XP driver on it (upgraded from XP). The so-called Win 7 driver is actually an "add-on" for the original driver which cannot be installed on a X64 Win 7 computer. Catch-22........gotcha!!!!!
