Need Schematic for Altec Lansing Computer Speaker Set ACS45

Appears to be no input from either of the input jacks . . . Woofer circuit responds to touching input to Output Power Transistor. Similar response to the two small speakers. Might be input audio transistor problem.

SOURCE: Noisy left hand power output stage. Noisy transistor? No circuit diagram.

If the speaker is not blown, there must be an output capacitor. If no output capacitor, and you have a blown transistor the speaker will blow from DC current. You can further check the transistors with a multimeter. A transistor looks like 2 diodes and you should be abobe to test with a mulimenter like a diode test.

SOURCE: ALTEC LANSING-VS-2521 SUB WOOFER AND LEFT SPEAKER

you probably messed something up in the subwofeer amplifier box, try taking them to a repair shop, or at the guarantee place.

another solution would be: you could try and fix them yourself but i don't recommend it.

Hi Jerry
What Model....?
Using a mobile phone camera would have helped in this situation.
Before taking things apart

I'll be very surprised if someone has the same speaker system in bits somewhere
An electronics guy would trace the wire back to it's source to decide what it's being used for.
Good Luck

Dell dimension 5150. Adding Altec Lansing acs410. Two speakers with a sub. Back of speaker has 2 inputs, a sub out, and a transfer line to the other speaker. Why two inputs? Dell has 5 jacks in this...

The speakers have two inputs for two different things, in my case I use the green input for my computer and the white one for my game consoles. You just need a 3.5mm minijack male to male cable to connect between the input on the speaker and the green jack on the computer.

My altec lansing mx5021 speakers problem

The problem I have found is the contact glue between the back panel and circuit board inside the sub woofer. The glue becomes conductive after some time (2 years..!!) and needs to be scraped away from across tracks, you can tell the problem areas as the glue is pale yellow but goes brown and conductive over time. Good luck.

If you want a volume control you need to put one on the inputs. You will buy buy a stereo volume control or potentiometer.
