The gas will cycle on and off during a drying session in response to the thermostat. If the clothes are not drying in a reasonable amount of time or if the gas only runs for a minute or so after it ignites (after the glow plug goes off) the exhaust path may be restricted. Check to make sure the lint filter is clean and that the exhaust duct is clear all the way to the outlet. Check also inside the duct where the exhaust connects to the dryer at the back or side. If the gas goes off immediately after the glow plug ignites it then goes off, then the secondary coil on the gas valve may be bad and the coils need to be replaced.

I have a gas dryer and cloths come out wet

Does the dryer get hot? If so check dryer vent.
If it is cold check the gas supply. Next open the lower cover and look to see a red glowing from the ignitor when running. It it comes on and no flame then you probably have a bad gas solenoid. If there is no red glow then it is probably the ignitor.

Hope that helps

The igniter glows but nothing else happends

for one thing, the glow plug may not be glowing hot enough, to light burner. if glow plug does not heat up like it should, then gas will not come out. have glow plug checked.

Does not get hot I took it apart and the glow

glow plugs may look like they are working but if they are not drawing enough amperage they will not open the valve you may have bad coils on the valve this is also a common problem

Jaguar x type 2 litre diesel. how often should the glow plugs be changed?

Hi, glow plugs does not need changing unless the vehicle struggles to start in the morning or when cold. When testing the glow plugs, they should not take longer then about 5 seconds to become red hot.

2000 peugeot 306 1.9 diesel smokey on startup and misfiring when cold but is ok after heating up no wAater loss any ideas

change the glow plugs i used to have a 306 and a huge cloud of white smoke come out of the exhaust on start up lol, changed the glow plugs and was clear as a whistle, its because the glow plugs dont get as hot as the others and fires up on the hottest cylinders so if you have two glow plugs out the other two are being forced to turn over hope this helps you ;)

The glow plug just lights up but no flame on my maytag mdg 5500aww

If the ignitor is glowing but the gas does not light check the flame sensor. If it is OK then the gas valve coils may have to be replaced.
