SOURCE: Singer futura 920 sewing machine

I have this machine for more than 30 yrs-- when this happens, the top thread is not pulled through the little disks correctly when you go up before getting to the arm. Here is a threading diagram

SOURCE: can't pick up bobbin thread

Unfortunatlly if it will not pick up thread, it is possibly out of time. But before you go changing the timing, make certain it is threaded correctly, the bobbin is threaded correctly. If they are all good see my tip on time a sewing machine.

Please share the symptoms of a messed up timing on a Singer Confidence sewing machine. Thank you in advance

A timing issue is usually demonstrated by the needle thread failing to pick up the bobbin thread. First, try installing a brand new needle as a bent/damaged needle will sometimes also fail to pick up the bobbin thread. You can search the internet for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

Singer 8734 :my thread is bunching up under the fabric. How do I adjust the bobbin?

If the thread is bunching up, it sounds to me like the stitch isn't being formed properly. Nothing to do with the bobbin, more a case of timing.
The spike, or whatever it is on your machine, which is under the needle, must pass through the loop in the thread from the needle at exactly the right time.
When the needle reaches it's lowest point, as it starts to go upwards again,a loop is formed in the thread, next to the needle eye. This loop is what the spike must pass through in order to make the stitch.

I cannot get the top needle thread to pick up the bobbin thread on a Singer 404. I have the manual online and can see that I have loaded everything properly, but the bobbin thread just sits there when I...

Hi Jennifer:

Do you understand how a stitch is formed on a sewing machine? The needle goes down to its full down position. At that point the shuttle hook should be pointing right at the needle scarf, ready to go past it as the needle starts to go up.

When the needle starts its upward travel it forms a loop... the shuttle hook enters the loop and the bobbin thread is "captured" in that loop.

If your machine's timing is advanced, the needle will hit the hook and break or make nasty thumping noises. If your timing is ********.... the hook misses the loop entirely and does nothing.

So... open up the entire bobbin/throat plate area.... take the foot off so you can see. Clean if necessary. Then turn the hand wheel by hand until you see that the needle is at the lowest point of travel. Where is the shuttle hook?

From there you'll have to use your logic to find the right screws and adjust the hook.

Here' is a Parts Chart for your machine.

Good luck!

Singer confidence 7467 bobbin thread issues

Have you checked that under the foot plate is clean sometimes a bit of fluff or thread collects there, and are you threading the needle the right way. check with the manual for the machine. Also check which way the manual recommends the bobbin thread is unwinding clockwise or anticlockwise. Hope this is helpful,

Brother ls2125 bobbin not picking up thread

OK...I have an old singer (from 1964) so I am not sure whether you can do this...

I thread the upper thread as directed.

I stick the bobbin in the bobbin assembly as directed.

LEAVING THE SLIDE DOOR OPEN...I, by hand turn the wheel on the right hand of the machine counter clockwise (towards me). I want the needle go down. The thread from the upper part will enter the bobbin area and will form a loop that goes OVER the top of your bobbin to catch the thread from the bottom.

I keep turning until the machine has complete a cycle where the needle has started from the highest point, dropped to the lowest point (thus forming the loop that passes over the bobbin) and returns back to the highest point).

At this point you will notice that the thread is coming for from the bottom of the machine..I use a scissor to pull the the ends of the thread through. To the top. There should be two ends, one from the top thread, one from the bottom. If you dont believe me..jsut use a bobbin with a different color of thread...you will see what I mean..there will be two threads...one the first color and one the second color.

Good luck!!
