Question about Canon IXUS V2 Digital Camera

E18 on canon sd450

O wow! looks like this happens to everyone.
i was taking pictures one day while walking with my dogs.. off the leash which was my first mistake.. and had to run after one of them with my camera in my pocket. i retrieved the dog and my cameras lens was open when i tried to take another pic. e18.. beeping.. crazy noise like gears were all tangled. this was about 4 months ago and i just found the camera while cleaning up my room.
jus banged it a few times and the crazy grinding noise stopped but still e18. no luck. the lens seems to be stuck.. doesnt fully protrude. im not trying to take it apart bc everythng that i do take apart ends up an art project and not an electronic piece of equipment anymore. is there any other remedy than banging it or trying to muscle the lens into a better position??
one positive note.. the battery life is awesome! it was still charged after four months of sitting in a desk drawer

the lens moves.. the travel is normal for about 75% and than craps out.. i can see pictures.. nothing wrong with screen. never dropped it.. i tried all this cleaning and banging nonsense, removing the casing and manually moving the gear cogs to generate the motor further than it could extend while E18ing, and still nothing. i know its fixable.. willing to break it open.. what could i do?

Believe it or not, but with my Ixus v² I was able to fix the E18 error for the second time - after having had the same trouble 2 years ago - with the "banging nonsense" ;)
Due to my experiences, you have to bang it with the plastic leash on the left side on a book. Might work for you too...
Good luck!

The gears might be damaged already for the lens that why its not moving anymore, you may need to contact the manufacturer for service center referral

How do I leash train my puppy?

Before you actually start leash training, I recommend attaching a leash to your dogs collar while at home and letting your puppy get used to the leash being there. After a few days, you can then begin leash training. During the beginning stages, you should walk your puppy on the leash without pulling/jerking. If your puppy starts to pull on the leash, I suggest standing still. This lets your puppy know that you do not want them to pull on the leash. Always use positive reinforcement while leash training. Below I have attached a link to a site that helped me leash train my dog.

What is a retractable leash?

Retractable leashes can usually extend up to 25-30 feet long. They are ideal for leash training puppies; however they may not be the best solution for keeping your pet under control.

Maybe it's a strange question but can I get a pet leash that glows in the dark? I walk my dog a lot at night and our area isn't so well lit. He keeps wrapping the leash around things and peopl

Actually you can get glow in the dark pet leashes. They're a great invention. Best is to the get the one that recharge in daylight, so they can be full when you head out at night. Try this website: http://www.lovemypetsgps.com/lovemypets-leash-p-30.html

How do you use a retractable pet leash properly? I just bought one and am worried about hurting my dog.

It's pretty simple to use a retractable leash, but check out this webpage that gives some basic instructions about how to use the leash so it's comfy for you and your dog. http://www.dog-obedience-training-review.com/training-a-puppy-to-walk-on-a-leash.html

How can I keep my dog from chewing on her leash?

There are a few thingsyou can do to keep a dog from chewing on their leash. You could get a short leash so that it won'tbe comfortable to turn and bite it while you are walking. You can put some bitter apple or some otherunappealing substance (do not use hot sauce!). You can also simply train your dog through standard training methods notto bite her leash. Also, once you havefinished your walk, put the leash away immediately so that she knows it isn'tone of her playthings.b>
