I have an infected toe which I have been treated by podiatrist but it has got pus now I soaked it in salt water and put iodine dressing on it but its still very sore,i cant take antibiotics.

I strongly suggest you see your primary care physician immediately; he or she can either a) send you to the hospital for treatment b) refer you to an open wound specialist c) or refer you to an infectious disease doctor.
You say that you can't take antibiotics; which ones? all of them?
If the toe, foot, and leg are red, hot to the touch, experiencing slight or low grade fever, chills and for an ambulance and go to the hospital; you'll need to have a doppler test done on the leg to make sure you have no blood clots; plus you'll need to have blood labs and blood cultures taken!
The toe pus will have to be analyzed to determine the type(s) of bacterium that have infected the toe.
If you are a diabetic and your glucose levels are out of control- the healing process slows down to not-at-all.
Depending upon the extent of the infection you may need to be placed on an I.V. drip of antibiotic versus taking it orally. There are so many broad range antibiotics available- even for people who "can't" take antibiotics; and you can be pre-treated with benadryl so you won't have any adverse reactions.
Please don't wait; you can lose the toe, foot, or leg- and in extreme cases, infections can travel throughout the body and permanently damage vital organs and cause *****.
As a matter of fact, don't wait- go to the hospital E.R. right now and get immediate treatment!

Hi My 78 yr old mom, suffers from diabetes, high blood and cholesteral. She had a stroke 4 yrs ago. Now her left arm has pain, and the skin of the left arm is peeling, looks like sunburn.

Hello Denise Bennett,

Old age is bad enough... but tossing on
high BP, cholesterol issues and stroke issues... topped with diabetes's ... things become quite treacherous...

Even the most talented DOCTOR...
with psychic powers would be foolish to tell you
anything but to treat this as an URGENT MATTER...
and get down to ER ... (EMERGENCY ROOM)

NOW ... Don't freak out... Just do it NOW.

What are the effective shin splints stretches?

Here are some of the effective shin splints stretches:
1) In a kneeling position, point your toes out behind and gently sit back on your heels pressing the tops of the feet towards the ground.
2) Standing arm length from a wall, put your hands on the wall while keeping your feet and knees straight, then lean forward as far as possible.
3) Standing with your feet flat, bend your knees forward as far as possible keeping your heels on the floor.
4) Put feet flat on the ground and have a partner hold them down. Partner applies resistance to your toes and you lift them up against the pressure.
5) Sitting with your left ankle on right knee, apply pressure to inside of your foot (near big toe) with hand, then and turn your foot up and in, using the leg muscles.
6) In the same position as above, put pressure to the outside of the foot (near little toe) with your hand, and turn foot down and out using the leg muscles.
7) In the same position as above, put pressure to the top of foot (near toes) with your hand, and lift the foot using leg muscles. Repeat these with the right ankle on the left knee.
8) Sit on a table or chair attach a weight (a bucket filled with stones or sand works well) around the foot. Without bending your knee move your foot up and down from the ankle - Start light and work up.
9) Attach one end of a stretching exercise elastic band to the leg of a table or sofa and loop it around the end of the foot. Move your foot up and down and side to side against the bands resistance. Try to draw the letters of the alphabet in the air with your big toe.
10) Stand erect and raise up and down onto your toes several times. You can make it harder by doing it while standing on a step and allowing your calves to stretch over the edge of the step.
11) While sitting lower and raise your feet with the heels on the ground as high and quickly as possible for 60 seconds. This is a great one to do during work days while sitting at your desk.

I have caluses on my right foot big toe and heel and the skin came off on both of them what can I put on them both?

I would be concerned about that. Why did the calluses develop and why did they come off? Contact a doctor, pedorthist or podiatrist to make sure all is well. This counts at least twice as important if you have a major systemic disease like diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis or marfan syndeome! Until the toes have healed, you should put a bandage on them with something like tea tree oil as a moisturizer and antibiotic.

What is a bunionectomy?

  • A bunionectomy is a surgery that removes all the swollen tissue from the area of the big toe joint. Your big toe will be straightened by taking away part of the bone. The long bone between the back of your foot and big toe will be realigned so the big toe joint will become straight. This joins the affected joint bones together permanenetly.

The bottom stand will not come out.

Some stands even if the screws are removed won't come out just because it's shaped in a way that it is retained by the rear plastic cover. So unless the last one is removed, the stand won't come out.
And make sure the stand doesn't get loose and falls on your toes when you remove the big back cover.

Are there any general fitting tips I should know of?

Feet tend to expand over the course of a day so it's better to try on shoes in the late afternoon and evening. A tight fitting shoe in the morning can become uncomfortable as the day wears on. Especially if your job or daily activity involves alot of walking or standing. You should also make sure your big toe has around half an inch or a thumb width of space. Otherwise your toes will rub against the material and this will create discomfort and blisters. Just make sure you can extend your toes and wiggle them when trying your shoes on.Also Make sure your wearing your usual pair of socks and not thick hiking socks.
