If the video card is ok try to reset your motherboard. just open your cpu and look for a battery on the board. (be sure your pc in unplugged) remove the battery by pressing the little lever in the bottom part of the battery after a few seconds place it back again just by pushing it.
Try also disk cleanup, disk defragmenter and system file checker...
hope this helps...
note: system file checker works works with the windows disk, it restores corrupted system files with a new one...

You'll need to setup the Acer laptop to boot from CD-ROM. Push either the F2 or F10 button when booting your laptop and it should bring-up the configuration management interface. Go through the options and confirm that Boot From CD-ROM is at the top of the list on bootable devices.
Next, you'll need your original Windows XP CD that came with the Laptop. Put it in the CD-ROM Drive and reboot your laptop. You will be given two options: 1) Re-install Windows or 2) Repair the existing Windows Installation. I recommend that you repair the existing Windows Installation as this will not destroy and data or device drivers that are install on the laptop.

usually blue screen comes from unstable video memory or windows system or HD.
you may try
1) reinstall windows
2) change another HD to install windows
3) change new ram memory or change memories slot between one and another
if not fixed, to be sure your video memory damage which is insualted on board(separated with RAM), only the hardware repair can be fixed.
