Ativa shredder X1800 - shredder does not respond. green light present. Reverse works fine. I killed it with too much shredded paper.

Unplug it. Lift the shredder unit off the catch-bucket. Remove any paper caught in the blades. You may need needle-nose pliers to pull jammed paper out from between the cutters.

GBC shredmaster 1150x shredder now runs only in reverse. And when I press the "reverse" button, the green "forward/shred" light comes on, rather than the red "reverse" light....

The first thing that comes to mind is that the switch is faulty and that one of the contacts has come loose and is shorting across the reverse contacts. There is little else that can go wrong with a shredder, so in this case try replacing the switch.

My shreder does not work, it is not jamed, it is pluged in, the green light is not on, and it does nothing.

After unplugging my shredder, I turned it upside down and in the area of the shredder mechanism there is a slot that has a little red lever in it. I moved it and tired again and the light came on and the shredder worked. I think it is like a circuit breaker -- we have been having lots of lightning storms and my shredder is not on a surge suppressor.

Tech Solutions shredder Only powers in reverse w/ green light

Their are sensors on top and bottom of cutter asm. Good chance one or more are dirty, blocked with paper shreds or just bad. Clean with compressed air and lightly moistened cotton swab.

Red light on with green light

This is more than likely a sensor issue. Fellowes Customer Service can advise you on a solution with a little more info than provided. 1-800-945-4545
