The problem is that in order to use the iPod Touch you need to connect it to a Computer with iTunes so it can install the software needed to work.
Try looking for a computer with Itunes and it should start working.

Plug in your ipod to the computer, and iTunes should recognize the iPod. If this doesn't work, try a different cable or USB port.

What to do is download itunes from the apple website this is what you use to transfer music, video and other stuff onto it. You can download itunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/ once you have installed it plug in the ipod to your usb port and it should come up as a device in your itunes. Then you will be able to either download music from the itunes store or put cds onto itunes and then you can transfer it to the ipod. Hope this helps.

My i-pod is not starting up.plezzz help me....

Make sure it is fully charged. When plugging it to charge it, connect the USB cable to a USB port on the back panel of your computer, if possible.

If it still doesn't start up ...

While plugged in, run iTunes, click on your iPod within iTunes (left side), then click on the "Restore" button in the middle of iTunes. Wait for the restore to complete, then click on the "Sync" button to copy your media back to yoru iPod.

Computer & itunes wont recognize i-touch

Sounds like a firmware problem, you can try and ask the same store to "fix their fix".

Starting up with anew ipod touch

To use iPod touch, you need:
  1. A Mac or a PC with a USB 2.0 port and one of the following operating systems:
  • Mac OS X version 10.4.10 or later
  • Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later, Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate edition.
  • iTunes 7.6 or later, available at www.apple.com/itunes
  • iTunes Store account (to purchase music over Wi-Fi)
  • An Internet connection
Before you can use any of the iPod touch features, you must use iTunes to set up iPod touch. You can also register iPod touch and create an iTunes Store account.
  1. Download and install the latest version of iTunes from www.apple.com/itunes.
  2. Connect iPod touch to a USB 2.0 port on your Mac or PC using the included cable. The USB port on most keyboards doesn’t provide enough power. Unless your keyboard has a high-powered USB 2.0 port, you must connect iPod touch to a USB 2.0 port on
    your computer
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions in iTunes to set up iPod touch and sync your music, video, photos, and other content. Your computer must be connected to the Internet. By default, iTunes automatically syncs all songs and videos in your iTunes library to
iPod touch. If you have more content in your library than will fit on iPod touch, iTunes alerts you that it can’t sync your content. You’ll need to use iTunes to select some of your songs, videos, and other content to sync.
When you get back to France, you'll need sync it with your PC. Download the latest version of iTunes then sync your iPod with your computer.

Turn the i pod on and theres a picture of i tuness on it and the charge cable and its locked ive turned the power off and on and keeps repeating the same problem

That icon is telling you that you need to sync the ipod with your computer.  Download itunes on your computer.  Open up itunes.  Now take the USB cord and plug it in your USB port on your computer.  Take the other end and plug it into the ipod.  A screen on your computer should show up to prompt you to set up the ipod touch.  Just follow the screen instructions.

It shows a cd with a music note saying itune

With an I-pod touch you must have iTunes that is what the "CD with music note" means. Once you download iTunes you must then plug your I-pod to the computer.

I dont have the computer that I orginally synced my i-pod with.

YES SHUT YOUR I POD OFF, THEN CONNECT YOUR USB CABLE TO YOUR PC AND TO YOUR IPOD THEN HOLD THE POWER AND HOME BUT UNTIL YOU SEE THE ITUNES ICON AND THE USB CABLE RIGHT UNDER IT ON THE IPOD SCREEN AS SOON AS THAT POP'S UP LET GO AND IT SHOULD SYNC INTO ITUNES, IF YOU HAVE NO PC THEN YOUR WELL OUT OF LUCK.
