SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

For got parent contral i user name

There are 3 main user types in Mac OS
Administrator: Can do pretty much anything, including adding and managing other users, installing apps, and changing settings.
Standard: Created by an administrator. Standard users can install apps and change settings for their own account... can't add other users or change other users' settings.
Managed: Users who are managed with parental controls can access only the apps and content specified by the administrator managing the user.

Assuming that the parental account that you are referring to is indeed an administrator, there are a few possible solutions, some of which are version dependent. See here for details:

Tip

A PC trick ;D

You might have heard and searched about shutting down remote PC.But, have you ever wished to turn on your PC remotely and access your file from FTP server and shut it down when not needed? Well you can. Sounds crazy isn’t it?
With simple tweak, you can turn your PC on from LAN. This will be a lot help if you have FTP server enabled from your desktop and you may want to access it from internet occasionally. Turning your PC always on will not be good as it will consume lots of energy. Even more your PC will be much more venerable for uninvited access.
To prevent this remotely turning on your PC can be good alternative.
To turn your PC on, all you need is the MAC (Physical address) address of the PC that you are turning on and Wake up on LAN or Power management from PCI enabled in the BIOS in the PC you want to turn on Remotely.
To check if it is enabled or not, go to BIOS setting in your PC by restarting and pressing Delete key(may varry according to motherboard). Go to Power Management Options, search for Wake up on LAN or Power management from PCI or any similar terms and enable it.
If you don’t see any option to manage power for PCI adapters then it might be possible to do it in Windows mode.
To do this, boot your computer to windows, go to Device Manager. Under network adapter choose the Network card that will be used to connect to LAN, i.e. your ethernet card.
Right click on it and choose properties. Go to Advanced tab.
Now in Property box scroll down to Shutdown Wake up or any similar terms. Select it and Enable it.
You may require a reboot after this.
Now your PC is ready to be turned on from LAN. This will enable to manage power from PCI devices like Ethernet cards. What it actually does is, configures BIOS to turn the PCI Ethernet card to grab some power even if PC is Powered Off. If any computer from LAN sends some command to PCI card then will will power on your PC.
Now anyting left to do is to have a tool to turn your remote PC own from remote location. I often use this tool since its free and customizable. With this free tool you only need to enter IP address of your PC and it will automatically get the MAC address of it. If required you have password field to enter.
Pressing Turn On button will turn on the PC with specified MAC address or IP address. You can also check if the PC is on or off.

I really hope this helps you :)

I have some problem it turn on and shut down after while i tink is the power supply

Hello and thank your contacting Fixya Support, I will be glad to assist you.

-PMU RESET-
The Power Manager is an integrated circuit (computer chip) that is usually on the logic board of your Mac computer.

It is responsible for power management of the computer. It controls back lighting, hard disk spin down, sleep and wake, some charging aspects, and some input/output as it relates to the computer sleeping.

• If the computer is on, turn it off.
• Disconnect all the connections going into the Mac except for the Power cord.
• Once all connections have been disconnected, remove the power cord from the Mac.
• Wait 20 seconds.
• Reconnect the keyboard, mouse and power cord back into the computer.
• Press the Power button to restart the Mac computer.

Try this procedure and if it works, great, If it does not, just reply back to this post
and let me know.

Regards,

-Terry

My hard drive is recogzed by pc, but i cannot access it. it does not show up in 'my computer'(but it used to function fine on my pc) i tired the steps given, but 'change drive letter and paths' was...

Once you try to access the drive from MAC, the windows partition would have got damaged...
The windows partition information would be lost...
so in order to access the HDD back in windows O/S, you need to reformat the drive...

Drives that are formatted for Mac o/s will not be able to access by Windows o/s and vice versa...

so try reformatting using the disk management tool utility available in computer management and try to access the drive...
It would help...!!!

I've a problem with using the WLAN with nokia

This may be a problem with your router. Routers have a feature where you can control which computers can access the network using their physical address. This is called the Media Access Control (MAC) address. Every wireless card and network card in the world has their own unique address and is represented in hexadecimal format.
You'll need to notify your router of your phone's MAC address. On my netgear router, I access the router through a browser on a computer connected to it by typing www.routerlogin.net (i think... it varies with different routers) or the gateway ip address e.g. 192.168.1.1. Find the option for MAC address management, in my netgear it's called Access Control (i think) and there should also be an option to add MAC addresses. Add in your phone's mac address and try again.
Your phone's MAC address should be located on the box it came in or under the battery of the phone. The MAC address is in the format 00:A1:B2:C3:D4:E5:F6:7A.
Good luck

I have a 3Com baseline 2816 switch that I can access through management web interface. I do not have the current configuration of the switch neither the MAC address info. Is there a method to hard reset it...

To hard reset the switch back to the defaults
use a pen or sharp object and hold the reset button on back of the switch in - then unplug/plug back in the power while the reset button is still depressed until the power led goes to solid amber - The switch is now in fail safe mode - Connect your pc/laptop to one of the front panel ports and see if you can discover the switch - if you still can't then configure your pc/laptop to the 169.254.0.0 - class B network and run the discovery again
once you have discovered the switch and can login -hit the upgrade firmware button and reload the code - you can check the progress at the bottom of the screen which has a toolbar showing the status of the upgrade

Imac is displaying in negative.i.e word documents are black with white text. Photos have cyan faces instead of red. Mac is working apart from color issues.

It sounds like you managed to turn on the Universal Access inverse image setting.  Try hitting ctrl-option-cmd-8.
For future reference, go to the Universal Access pref pane under System preferences.
I hope that helps.
