SOURCE: Cant remove drain pump cap of bosch washing macine

I just replaced my drain pump on my BOSCH washing machine WFL2060-so almost identical to yours. When I posted my question, I was told that it was a pain to do, that many repairmen refuse to do it etc.... even that the front panel does not come off. Well, I am a fairly petite (by athletic) woman, and very far from being an expert at repairing anything....
I just did it in less than 45 minutes with a screw driver and a pair of pliers (and a bit of common sense). Here is the protocol:
1- UNPLUG your machine
2- drain any water that could be left inside (at the bottom front right, you will find a small door: open it, the filter and the small black hose are there)
3- . put an old blanket on the floor behind your machine and a piece of wood long enough to go across the width of your machine- place it half way to what will be the height of your machine once it lies down on the floor- this will save your fingers in case you loose grip of the machine while tilting it down on its back...
4- tilt your machine back and down on its back: use your thigh muscles as the machine si a bit heavy (if you have a friend help you that will be easier-but I did it alone...
5- remove the bottom front panel (2 screws)
6- above the filter access you will see 1 to 3 screws: take them off
7- from the bottom of your machine, take out the electric plug at the back of the pump's motor
8- using your pliers (and a good grip) loosen the metallic braces that hold the 2 hoses and slide them down along each of the hoses
9- the unit will come off into your hand.
10- replace the unit with the new one
11- screw the unit back
12 plug the wires back
13 reposition the hoses (you cannot go wrong, they are on wither side of the pump)
14- slide the braces back onto the hose+pump outlet
15- tilt your machine back
16- plug your machine
17- you are ready for your load!
AND... you have saved about $200 without the part (I ordered it, paid $49 and was delivered to me within 2 business days!)

SOURCE: miele W1712 washing machine drain fault

Just had the same problem, after Much patience and persistence I found the blockage at the y piece that joins the pump to the outlet hose air trap towards the top of the machine LHS with the top and cover off.

It was clogged solid therefore no back pressure on the top little ball valve (between the air trap and the outlet) therefore no seal therefore norain therefore a drain-fault that persists regardless of a cleaned pump filter.

SOURCE: how does the wf430 hotpoint washing machine drain

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} Not too sure what you mean but will try to explain. The water in the tub is only kept there because one end of the outlet hose is higher than the tub and the job of the pump is to push the water up the hose and out. If the outlet hose is lower than the tub, all the water inside will just flow out, the pump does not hold the water in the machine it only assists in its removal. If you remove the pump from the machine altogether then the water will just flow onto the floor but if you disconnect the pump from the wiring circuit it will just mean you have no mechanical way of emptying the tub. However if you lower the hose to the ground then by the force of gravity the water will flow out. Just one other point, the hose should come out of the machine and rise up the back of the cabinet then loop down again where it fits into a stand pipe or is connected to a waste pipe, if however the end of the hose is lower than the tub you will get a siphoning effect happen after the first pump out in which case the water from the machine will just empty on its own without the aid of the pump. SOURCE: the machine is not going

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/PUMP MOTOR/DRAIN to work when it is commanded .If this does not happen then the voltage at these points must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage/drive from the controller. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor. The water pressure must be good and the spraying must be seen to be good. If there is low pumping or pressure then the spray arms will not turn around to inject with pressure. If so the pump must be checked for clogging.

To replace check this link:

http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/dishwashers/a/3/1293/how-to-replace-the-spraying-system-on-a-dishw.html

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

The last 3 times after using my top load Kenmore clothes washer, a mud spot (1/2" diameter) keeps reappearing in the bottom of the cylinder. Should I use draino to clean the drainage system or clean the...

DO NOT use Draino or any other drain clog removal chemicals to clean a washer. It could damage the tub seal, drain lines and/or pump & impeller. If you wish to clean the washer, you need to access the drain pump and remove the drain lines and flush them out. The following link explains how you can access and remove the pump:

    http://www.fixya.com/support/r3794382-replacing_water_pump_whirlpool_top

I would recommend you UNPLUG the washer and take it to a location where you can flush water through it. Preferrably outside, or in a garage. If you lie the drain hose on the floor and fill the wash tub with a garden hose, simple gravity will flush water through the tub basin, drain pump and drain lines.

If you have any questions about these procedures, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

NOTE: The drain pump has only one moving part (the impeller). It is a common place for debris to collect. Remove the two drain hoses on the pump to inspect.
