Civil war song lyrics

Your best bet would be to use Google to search for the meaning of a particular song.

A good search string would be something like this, where you substitute the name_of_the_song with the name of the song you are searching for (put it in quotes):

the meaning of the civil war song "name_of_the_song"

These links might also help:

I need Taps / lyrics

The answer to your questions can be found at the following URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taps#Melody_and_lyrics. Hope you understand that this is only played at the end of Military funerals. Please do not play this to returning surviving soldiers as it would be in very bad taste.
