I download a programme on my MacBook and want to play it via our TV but have to use the computer speakers for sound. Can we get the sound through the TV speakers?

It depends what connections you have on the TV. By using a headphone splitter socket you can put that into the speaker socket of your computer. Your speakers plug into one side of it and the other can take the audio connections back to your TV. However if you have terminated the ends of the cable with RCA type phono plugs, (image2) you will need to have audio in sockets on the TV. Some TV still have a scart connector and you can get a scart to phono plugs lead. You will also need a coupler to connect them (image 3) See images. But as I say it depends what sockets are on the TV.

Two sockets in room.. 1 socket connects the TV directly .. yes i did not know it was safe :(... the other socket has like an extender then multiple sockets. plugs the ps3 wire into a plug then into...

Hi, I will suggest that you have those plugs checked out by a electrician. You could have a fire if you continue. Also you may not have enough power to run your TV. Good Luck

Samsung 3D PN58C8000YFXZA. The standard power cable for this TV does not fit into a resesed wall power socket. Is there an alternative cable I can use

You could try plugging a power bar into the wall socket, then plugging the tv into one of the power bar sockets.

Trying to connect Acer One to TV

The 15 pin connector is for a computer type monitor and MOST TV's do not have that type input.

Some TV's have a "S" type input or some form of NTSC video (usually yellow jack) plus two jacks for stereo sound.

You would need a special convertor if you only have the 15 pin SVGA plug on the Acer.

My tv has one sub output socket, but my active sub woofer has a red and white input sockets.what lead do i need to connect it up with?

Sounds like the output on the TV is a phono socket or a jack and the inputs on the sub woofer take banana plugs. You need (or should make up) a lead with a phono or jack plug one and and two banana plugs the other end. (phono plug/socket has two connections and banana plugs just one)

If you can provide the model numbers of the two bits of equipment I can check this for you.

One day just would not turn on, fuse maybe?

Possibly. However, I would try rebooting the unit first. Unplug the TV from the power supply for about 5 minutes. Then reconnect and try to turn the unit on. If it still does not work, plug a lamp into the wall socket where you have the TV plugged into. If the lamp lights, then you're getting power to the wall socket. If you have the TV plugged into one of those "power strips" check that it is turned on. If so, plug the TV directly into the wall socket. If it comes on, then you have a bad power strip. If the TV still does not come on, you'll probably need repair service.

I cannot make my wii to work on my Sony tv

Some newer hdtvs use the green rca in the back for both a/v and component. Usually it has green with a touch of yellow on rca input itself. Then plug in audio to red and white.

Do not understand how to set up my alba digi box to my television and recieve basic digital channels help!

Hi.

Ok
1) plug aerial in to the antena in sock on freeview box.
2) plug short aerial type lead in to rf out socket on freeview & antena in socket on TV.
3) plug A scart lead in to the socket marked TV on freeview box & the other end of scart in to one of the scart sockets on the TV.
If your TV has more than one socket plug it into the one marked AV1 or AV2.

4) plug in freeview to mains electricity & switch box on.
5) Turn TV on freeview should appear automatically if it doesnt look on your TV remote for A button marked AV or a button with either A circle or square with an arrow going through it you may need to press this several times until you see digi picture come up.
Thats basically it but do check that you dont need a new aerial etc to be able to get digi signal in your area.

Can't re patch tv with set top box to watch tv

Hi.

Ok here goes.

1) Take airial lead from the wall socket in to antenna in on freeview box.

2) connect short usually black airial type lead in to antenna out socket on freeview. plug the other end of this lead in to aerial in on vcr.

3) connect the other end of this aerial type lead to airial plug on the back of tv.

4) now if you have 2 or more scart sockets on the back of tv set plug in the scarts in this order.
Freeview box scart with tv on it connect to scart 1 on tv set.
Freeview box vcr scart connect to vcr in scart socket on vcr.
Vcr scart marked tv plug scart from here to scart 2 on tv
If you have 3 scart sockets on tv you can connect dvd using scart to scart socket 3 on tv.

If Tv has only 1 scart the aerial leads will stay the same as I have stated,
Freeview must go to scart socket on tv set.
leave second scart from freeview to vcr plugged in so you can record freeview by putting vcr to line 1 or AV 1.
you will need to put tv on channel (0) & tune this channel to the video play a tape that you recognise then go to tv tuning & tune tv untill you see video playing then store this on channel (0).
DO NOT USE AUTO TUNING IT WILL PUT CHANNELS IN THE WRONG ORDER JUST USE MANUAL TUNING.

Now to view Dvd you will either need to purchase A scart switch box. Or have keep unpluging freeview scart from tv so you can plug in dvd .

If your tv has red yellow white phono sockets you can plug dvd in to these, you may need to purchase phono leads.

Hope this helps.
