If it is a clean cut, and not all mangled up. You can get a male or female replacement plug at any hardware store to replace the cut off end. Hope this helps you.

It is most likely the female jack your adapter plugs into. Many laptops can have this port break if the laptop is put into a bag, etc with the power chord attached. Since it is attached to the main board itself, this is very hard to fix. Some vendors however will cover it under the manufacturer's warranty.
try going to radio shack and asking someone who works there to help find a AV female to AV input chord.
hook up the device that has a male AV out plug to the AV female plug and hhok it up to your DVD player
