Question about Washing Machines

Dribbling water when trying to fill up

The water dribbles inside for the filling process. Had a new hot water heat placed under my house ..have two water units..(reserve)..and I noticed the water in the kitchen sink "sputtered" a good bit to get the pressure correct..I washed some clothes a day later and the washing machine would only dripple. Then I attempted to start the washer again about 30 minutes later and it worked. However, 2 weeks later about 4 loads later, the washing maching is not working only dribbles water from two spots in the back when you open the lid. Do you think it is the filters in the hose? Thank you for your help..

Re: dribbling water when trying to fill up

Turn off faucets for hoses to washer. disconnect hoses at washer, noting which one went where first.. Hold end of hose in washer tub and turn on faucet. If it comes out strong, check the filter screens in washer inlet valve where hoses connected. DO-NOT remove these screens. If you do it can cause flooding by allowing grit to hold open valve. Clean screens without removing them by scraping with small screwdriver and flushing with water.

Water for intial fill works fine . when it goes to rinse cycle the water just dribbles in making wash time go on for ever ! whats the solution?

when you start the washer set it just on cold and see if it fills slowly, when the washer goes to rinse it just uses cold water, you could have a problem with the washer or in the house, when you run it on just cold and if it dribbles in,stop it shut down the water going to the washer, remove the cold water hose from the back of the washer, stick it in the sink or inside the washer and turn it on,if it comes out strong then you have a bad water valve on the washer,if it comes out slowly you have a bad water valve in the house and it's not the washer.hope this helps

Hoover 700l Cold water is not fillingproperly. Only a verey small dribble comes into the machine. I have reversed the hot and cold hoses, making sure that the setting is on "hot". Problem...

Clogged screen in fill valve on cold side. Remove hose from cold side on valve. Pull screen out. Wash under hot water, and re-install.

My washer will not fill with water or do any functions when i turn the dial

My Hoover 7700l ...on "fill" cycle, the water dribbles in. Takes hours to fill so we use buckets to reach the required level.

Tried: Swapping cold and hot water inlet hoses, making sure that dial is in "hot". This solved the problem for filling, BUT when "rinse cycle appoars, it's back to the dribble again.

any ideas?

Simpson Espirit water not Filling

try removing your cold water hose and check to see if the screen filter has a calcium buildup or some other obstruction.  if not that then possible bas inlet valve on washer.

Problem: the cold water just dribbles out when filling the tank and it takes forever to fill the problem with the hot water flow.

If you have water pressure to the cold inlet valve and the valve's filter is clear, you probably have a failed inlet valve...Replacing the cold valve should fix the problem..Not a big or expensive job..Good luck....Nomess

When my washer is filling with cold water only it just dribbles in. It takes about 1 hr to fill the entire washer. When I fill it with warm or hot I don't have the problem.

Make sure that you have good flow at the wall outlet first. Second, remove the cold water hose from the back of the washer and clean the screen filter there.

If the above doesn't help then you probably have a bad valve inside the machine.

Kenmore washing machine does't fill with water only dribbles

Try disconnecting the hoses from the rear of the machine and see if the screen filters are clogged up and also make sure that their is plenty of preasure and volume of water when you turn on the hoses unhooked directed into ther drain. This is likely your problem as it is unlikely both the hot and cold fill valves went or bad out at the same time.
