These air-threading loopers can be used while the 'blast door' is one so that you may observe how the thread behaves as it passes through the system. Note that the rods that are controlled by the looper threader setting must join together and that there must be a sufficient amount of loose thread to blow all the way through.
If these steps continue to fail your next best step is to have a technician look at it. It is possible that not enough air is blasting through to complete the threading process.

How to thread Baby lock evolve 8?

It's not hard. Follow the threading chart/manual that came with your machine. Thread the farthest right, chaining looper and move to the left. It depends upon which stitch you want to make. All 8 will create the strongest seam.

The machine is not giving me a clean overlock stitch it is looping at the edge of the fabric

When this happened to me, my grandson had changed the differential feed from N. If this doesn't help, cut your threads and rethread making sure the pressor foot is up. Then check your settings on the "Quick reference guide." This usually fixes the problem.

Using the cutter on the Baby Lock Evolve

As wide as you want, but anything over a few inches is going to be difficult to guide.

You will get a more even cut if you trim away most of the excess down to a few inches, like with a rotary cutter and mat.

My Evolve serger is skipping stitches while using the 4 thread safety stitch which is a chain stitch with a two thread overlock. Sews fine for a few stitches and then skips a loop which unravels. I checked...

First, change the needles making sure to use the el705 needle system. Second, make sure the subsidiary looper is engaged properly (plugging up the upper looper hole). Also make sure the needles are all the way up in the machine. This should do it or it may need to be adjusted but the Evolve is a very, very reliable machine. Hope this helps...

Baby Lock Evolve wire Looper threading tool

You have to get the replacement wires from a Babylock dealer, I did too then after sticker shock at the price of that wire I learned to make a thread cradle and use that to thread difficult threads no. Take about 24 inches of regular sewing thread and fold it in half, put the open ends (together, same legnth) into the jet air port and hold onto the loop end, press the jet air threader and it will thread the machine, insert the thread you want to use into the loop you have in your hand and pull it thru the machine using the ends of the thread you put thru the machine, sounds harder than it is and works all the time. No more spending $8 on replacement wires. You can use this method for all the jet air sergers.

Once on the product page for your particular model, you will find a link towards the bottom that says "Manuals & Guides." Click on this link and there will be links to download the manual and anything else, like a Quick Reference guide.
