What setting do I need to have the machine on to **** up the excess water? I want to download the manual but can't seem to find a link to do so, how would I do that?

You should have the vacuum set to Wash/Rinse for all steps in cleaning. Press the trigger to release the cleaning solution and push the vacuum forward. With the trigger still pressed, bring the vacuum back towards you). Then release the trigger and again move the vacuum forward and then back. Repeat the "dry" strokes until the dirty water enters the dirty water tank. Watch the water going through the dirty water tank lid. Empty the dirty water tank if the suction fails or the tone changes. Do more dry strokes after cleaning the entire surface until you do not see more water entering the dirty water tank.

The manual is available from Hoover at the product site: http://hoover.com/products/details/f7411900/max-extract-dual-v-widepath-carpet-cleaner/ . The direct link is here: http://hoover.com/file/592/ .

I hope this helps.

I posted my problem earlier today that I was having with my Bissell Little Green Machine not dispensing solution, but sucked up no problem. Someone said that the most common problem was a blockage. We put...

Okay. I fixed this on mine. Undo the screws on the handle, right by the trigger. You pull the tubes off the little valve. Push on the button and see if you can blow through the valve. If not, push a pin around in the valve (with it pushed into the open position) until you can blow through it easily. Then flush it out with water. May take a couple tries. Then put it back together. Make sure you run clean water through it before putting it away. I think the solution tends to dry inside it. The machine never liked cheap cleaning formula.

Hoover Steamvac hose won't spray water

SOLUTION#1 If the attachment wont spray water, the white plastic nozzle tip may be clogged. Take the brush attachment off, remove the two screws from the gray retaining cover (BE CAREFUL THE WHITE TIP UNDER THE BLACK PLASTIC TRIGGER MECHANISM IS SPRING LOADED and WILL GO FLYING). The trigger mechanism can be taken apart by lifting the black part off (may have to slide it back slightly), remove the spring from the white plastic valve insert, then take a flat screw driver and carefully pry the two white pieces apart and blow out both ends. You may have to find a hair size piece of wire to push threw it to clear it. The whole process is really simple once you take it apart and see how it works. Putting it together is in reverse order. The white piece will only go in to the black part one way and with the spring on you need to push it through the hole and the trigger part hooks on, slide it back on to the hose, then while holding it all, and put the gray retaining cover back on. Sounds more difficult than it really is. If your not mechanically inclined take some pictures as your taking it apart to refer to.
Solution#2 If the nozzle and trigger are clear, with the trigger assembly off the hose, plug the hose into the shampooer and turn it on (if the hose inside the suction hose is clear you should start seeing water flowing out the hose. If not run a piece of wire through that hose to unclog it. If its still not flowing then the Pump on the unit needs to be replaced.
Solution #3Cost Around $20 with shipping online. Google your make and model, and upholstery attachemnt pump. Mine was called AP4561692 (43582018) PUMP ASSM, from http://www.appliancepartspros.com/. (there real good about the live chat and helping you find the part). There are Youtube videos on taking apart the shampooer, which is pretty easy. The one place that might give you problems after you get down to taking the pump off, there is only one screw holding but there is on the bottom side of the pump a black bump that clips in to the base of the shampooer and you need to stick a screw driver from the bottom up and pry the base one way and pull the pump the other to unhook it.

I have a Bissell Powersteamer & it won't throw out the water.

You can test the trigger to see if that is the problem. Take the two handle bolts out, gently pull back on the tool rack and slide the handle up off the unit. If you look down inside of the unit where the handle was you can see the valve that the handle used to actuate. You can turn on the unit and manually activate the valve with a long screwdriver. If it starts working then you know it was the upper handle.

Does it spray out the tools? If it does then you have a clogged heater. It is located in the lower handle and can be taken apart and cleaned out.

Good Luck

Water is dumping into the carpet

open case to access behind trigger the problem probably lies with the small valve that it operates. Remove valve and blow through it pressing the operating button in and out to see if it closes off fully. If not replace valve and reassemble.

Too much water coming out.

When you press the trigger an angled piece on the end of the plastic rod attached to the trigger pushes valve button in that then releases fluid. On releasing the trigger, the valve button is supposed to be pushed back out by an internal spring. The button gets sticky with evaporated cleaning fluid and does not come back out, causing fluid to continuously run. Try taking the machine outside, fill the tank with very hot water, pull the trigger, and let the clean, hot water flow through the valve. Perhaps it will free up. If not, the valvle will have to be replace. Either way, once it is working, ALWAYS flush the entire system with hot, clean, clear water to remove any cleaning solution in the system or it will only clog again

This might help, I've had this one torn apart....way too many times, never enough water, limited water, water starts and stops. I've just now discovered that the problem is in the soap selection valve. if the internal valve is pushed too far down into it's seat, it blocks the water flow enough to cut off the limited suction that stupid little pump provides. You should see and immediate, extreme jump in water flow. Good luck

Follow the plastic extension that runs from the trigger through the length of the handle. This requires more disassembly that at just the trigger. At the end of the plastic extension you will find a triangular-shaped "ramp" that pushes against a "button" plunger that opens the valve that releases solution. When you release the trigger, the triangular ramp retreats and the plunger is supposed to be pushed back out by an internal spring in the valve. This plunger sticks because of accumulated soap from evaporated solution. Try cleaning that valve and plunger by running clean, hot water through the system OR replace the valve. In the future ALWAYS thoroughly flush the system with hot, clean water after using the machine.
