My totaline thermostat model #p474-0100-a the backlight is staying on and when the furance is running after only a couple of minutes it shuts off and my furance shuts down .

Multiple issues that are not related. If the pilot light goes out then the thermocouple might be bad. If the pilot ignites the gas and everything shuts off, it sounds like the over temperature sensors are detecting heat in excess of what is allowed in the firebox. The thermostat issue has nothing to do with this.

When call for heat on model # WGPH-10eamer serial number DF5D302f419801914 the furance goes throught the cycles, the burner comes on and cuts off after 8 seconds. The flame censor was changed and the...

It could be the control board, But before I would replace the board I would check to see if the flame sensor is not touching the burner and shorting it out. Also check the flue make sure it is open. This has a combustion blower on it and a proving pressure switch. Some time the pressure drops when the burners come on will trip the switch and start the process all over again and acts just like a flame sensor fault if the flue has some blockage. Also make sure you have a good ground back to the board. A little rust on the burner right at the flame sensor can block the micro signal back to the board. I am sorry I can't remmember the light codes. There should be sticker on the panel with the wiring diagram that show the codes. Good Luck I hope this helps....

Rheem 3204-80D furance. Turns on and fan starts. Then in about a minute the fan shuts off.

Problem: Your furnace will not ignite the gas to produce heat for your home. When a furnace has a bad ignitor what I see most of the time is the following sequence of operation:

1. Thermostat calls for heat. 2. Draft inducer motor starts. 3. Pressure switch attached by a small plastic or rubber tube senses the negative pressure produced by the draft inducer and closes. 4. Draft inducer runs for 30 seconds to a minute before you hear a gas hissing sound. The ignitor did not glow, the flame sensor (a small metal probe about 1/8" in diameter, with a white porcelain base) does not sense the flame, so after 8 to 10 seconds the hissing sounds stops with no ignition of gas to heat your home. Your furnace shuts down and goes into a lock out condition until you turn your power switch back off and on again. Then the sequence starts all over again with no ignition of the gas. Solution: You probably need to purchase and install a new ignitor. I would suggest that you inspect your ignitor closely for cracks. Make sure you do not touch the ignitor with your bare hands. If you do not visually see a crack, then you could have a furnace control board problem or a limit, rollout switch problem. The furnace's control board might not be supplying the voltage to the ignitor. If your furnace lights and the gas stays on for 8 to 10 seconds, then shuts right back off, then you need to clean your flame sensor with light sand paper or steel wool. You might need a new flame sensor, but most of the time they can be cleaned an will work well after cleaning.

Furance not staying on

The flame sensor is not sensing flame.

You can try cleaning it, but will probably have to replace it.

When the sensor does not detect flame after ignition, it will shut down the gas flow.

Furnace shutting off

Thanks for you question,
It will be one of two things, either you have a bad flame sensor, or a bad pressure switch, , the flame sensor is located infront of the burners, its a little rod that the flame impinges on when its lit, you may need to take it out, and clean it, use some emery cloth to clean it then reinstall it, give it a try and if your furance runs, then great, your pressure switch isnt to bad either, you will see one or two small pieces of tubing coming out of it, two possible three wires on the front of it, remove the switch, and take it to your local heating and a/c shop to get a replacement, there is no working on these, hopefully its the flame sensor, alot less trouble ! Hope that was helpful, thanks again for your question, please let us know how we did,
