Hello, I am sorry about your issue. It would be difficult to determine where the problem lies. I suggest having the unit serviced or traded in. Thank you, Onkyo USA

My Onkyo TX-SR506 plays cable and CD inputs to zone 2, but DVD won't play. Everything is connected according to the manual and I assigned zone 2 output correctly. What gives?

How are your cable and cd inputs hooked up? Analog connections? Alot of receivers cannot send an audio signal from hdmi inputs to zone 2.

I have a TX-8211 but I am out of town looking at Internet Radio tuners. Can you tell me what type of inputs are on the Onkyo? I know it has the black/red spring loaded wire inputs but are there other...

Your tuner will be the limiting factor regarding sound. The Onkyo accepts any stereo analog input via RCA connectors, period.

Those "black/red spring loaded wire inputs" are speaker outputs and if you hook one of those to an innocent audio device's Line In connections you might kiss it all goodbye.

I have an Onkyo TX-SR605 AV receiver that just stopped outputing video to my Panasonic projector. I have connected other devices directly to the projector and video is fine, so the problem is not the...

Goof information. Have you eliminated or proven the Onkyo as a cause by going direct to the projector? Try another Input and/or Output. It's best to know which component is broken and if it's limited to a specific subset of its function.

Settings are also indicated. Run through the video setup again. If it just stopped, what preceded it?

Onkyo TX-SR706; Turntable output only from one speaker

Try some troubleshooting to check whether its the turntable or the the receiver.

What happens if you exchange the output cables of the turntable from left to right. Does the problem shift?
Does the sound changes from left to right speaker?

Similarly try on the inputs of the Receiver.. does the problem shift...?
This way you will be able to isolate the problem, whether with the receiver or the turntable....

Let me know, we can trouble shoot it further....

Onkyo TX-SV919THX, No Output

I have found the battery location. It is roughly on the opposite side of the pc board where the display is. It basically faces the heat sinks. It's one of those small watch sized batteries and is soldered but sticking off the pc board with 2 leads. I could see that there was some leakage and corrosion. I still have to figure out what needs to be dis-assembled to get access to it so I can unsolder the bad battery and replace it. This stupid little battery seems to need replacing every 6-8 years! When it dies, it seems to disable the preamp section from passing any signal giving the symptoms that the amps are dead. However, if you try to use the pre-outs to an external amp, nothing. So, my guess is it has something to do with the preamp section. Anyway, that will be my weekend project to try to get at the battery and replace it with "longer leads" so it will be easier to replace in 6 years when it dies again. Great design Onkyo! You dumb-*** weasels!!!! I hate when companies engineer things to break so you are likely to pay them to fix it. Not this time, "No soup for you!"

Connect the receiver to a Samsung LN32A450 TV?

I have a model LN32A330 which is probably has connections similar to yours. I'm not home right now to check whether it has a digital output, but I know for sure it has an analog audio output available. You can run that output to an available auxiliary or a/v source input on the receiver and that will work for you. That's how I have mine connected. If the set has a digital output and the receiver offers digital inputs, that's another connection possibility. The digital output on some brands of TV only works in conjunction with the tuner, and may not always have output. The analog method is guaranteed to work.

If this solution has helped get you on the way, please take a moment to give it a fixya rating. Thanks for asking here!
