The 2003 Yamaha YZ450F is a big-bore, air-cooled two-stroke motorcycle. It was first introduced in 2001 and was the replacement for the 2000 model year YZ450F. The engine displacement has remained at 450cc since then. It uses an overhead camshaft with four valves per cylinder and a 4 valve/cylinder head configuration to create power output of 35 PS (29 kW) @ 8500 rpm and 25 lb·ft (35 Nm) @ 7200 rpm with a compression ratio of 9.7:1.
they're is an adj at the pump follow your arm linkage down to the pump, with it running you adj it one way or the other to get neutral out of pump, then try it and tighten everthing up
Remove the cover for the valves by the spark plug and adjust both valves at .008 gap That will end the back firing. They have locking nuts (double nuts) at each valve to adjust
un-solder 1 leg of D11 diode, pull it out of the board, and make sure it does not short against anything.
That will bring your modulation up all the way. there are other adjustments that can be done, but without proper meters, you will most likely mess up the radio.
