SOURCE: Sony Cyber-Shot Battery Compartment Door Broken

I'm having the same problem with my DSC-W1 camera. I dropped my camera and the battery door latches broke.
I found a replacement door on Ebay for $9.95
I followed the instructions in the description and easily removed the broken door from my camera. Now i'm just waiting on the new door to arrive so I could slide the new door in.
I hope this was helpful.

Here's the seller I bought the door from. Hopefully the seller has more doors. =) :

SOURCE: c:32:01 system error= can use

"C:32:01 System Error" means, there's something wrong with the memory. Attach it to your computer and format the the card as 'FAT'. Formatting as 'FAT32' or 'NTFS' will produce this error.

Accesing the service mode

The only way you could possibly change this, is when Sony brings out an update for this camera. It is rare for point and shoot camera's to update the firmware, but sometimes it does happen.
The bigger cameras, like DSLR and mirror less system cameras, more often get an update, because even small improvements for the professional photographer, will be made available, to keep the brand popular with the ones who are using the camera. And when the firm brings new lenses, sometimes the upgrade contains corrections for these lenses.
With an update, (when it comes available) you could put in the update, for the rest of the world. And from that point on, the camera would be like any other outside of Japan. That is, when Sony did not put in other hardware in the different versions.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S930. When I press the button to take a picture, the camera turns itself off. It then can't be turned back on again until the batteries have been removed, then re-installed.

Camera froze probably due to overheating and condensation.Requiring battery to be removed to reset the computer inside. You need service, or put the camera in a dry p;ace and try again much later.

Hi,
Click Sony Support and put model number in search bar to download instructional manual copy.
Camera model number would start letters DSC-xxx and would be written at bottom.
Thanks.

Sony Cyber-shot 10.1 user manual

Sony makes more than one 10.1MP Cybershot camera. If you know the model number, you can look for the appropriate manual here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/index.pl

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F717 5.0 Megapixel

Hi Bella

That code means that the lens unit was unable to move from home position to switch on position.

These lens are extremely complex and I doubt if you could find someone able to repair the lens.

Therefore I suggest contacting Sony to find a accredited dealer to quote you on replacement of the lens.

My guess is it will cost half of what you originally paid for the camera.

Good luck.
