I am first to taste what's in the pot. Also the first to know if the soup's too hot. The only one who gets to kiss, the lips of every hungry miss. What am I?

SOURCE: Handle fell off

I had the same problem, handle broke off without any warning when I picked up the full cooker. I suffered a minor burn and was lucky it wasn't more serious. I emailed Euro-Pro and after 3 days I got a email referring me to call the Euro-Pro Service Dept. 1-800-361-4639. After a long wait on hold, a customer service tech told me the handle part was not available, but that I could ship the unit to them at my cost to

Euro-Pro
165 One Genesis Way
Spruce Pine, NC. 28777

and a repair tech would determine whether to repair the unit or replace it. I also feel that there is a problem with the handles and these units should be recalled.

SOURCE: My burner gets excessively hot very quickly is this normal?

Hi,

That right front burner is an extremely hot burner by design. It is sold as a quick power burner. The rating on it is 12,000 btu's meaning it could easily boil a pot of soup in that time.

Here is a quote from the owners manual for your range

"There is a 12,000 BTU*
burner located in the right front position. These burners offer
higher speed cooking that can be used to quickly bring water
to a boil and for large-quantity cooking."

Use the back for slower smaller cooking and front for larger and quick heating.

I hope that helps.

When making soup for 100 at church, the black pepper spilled. It is quite spicey. Short of diluting it, any recommendations?

Hi
The only suggestion that I can give you that does not involve dilution and therefore loss of flavour, is to make another batch of the soup - completely without black pepper but with everything else, and blend the two together until the taste is about right. I think I would gradually add the spicier one to the later batch to get the required pepperiness.
At least doing it this way, you don't dilute any of the other characteristics, even if you find you've got double quantities !!
Hopefully your church goers will be hungry !
Good Luck.

Metalic after taste when cooking soup.

If you're using spoon made of metal to steer it while cooking than it might be some chemical reaction between the spoon and the pot due to salty fluid. Try using wooden steerer.

durabrand has no contacts outside china this is a unit made for and imported for walmart only walmart is the only contact ...... your problem is not anything you or walmart can do anything about the problem is the cheap plastic that is used , when it gets hot some people can taste and smell it and others cant . .. its getting more common in everthing that heats water .. personaly i would not drink anything from an appliance that puts a plastic taste in my water ..... if you move up in price the problem is reduced , better plastics are used , but your not going to get one for 10.00 ! "you get what you pay for " more now than ever .... good luck Please if this answer helped , please rate this 3 or 4 stars . and keep me in the paid answer department . A 1 or 2 may knock me down into the unpaid ranks. Thanks Cactus Bob
