Yes you can downgrade it to windows xp. go to toshiba website www.toshiba.com and from there you can download the drivers for Windows XP. befor installing Windows XP please download the Network driver and save it on a CD or any other driver. Then install Windows XP. Install the network drivers, connect to the internet and install the other drivers required.

Press and hold the off button until it turns off! Wait a few seconds and then turn on, it should say windows shut down un expectantly do you want to start windows normally, click yes! This should start up ok!

Contact the previous owner for the password. If there is no hdd password available, purchase a new hdd and put an OS on it. If it is the bios password; this may help;https://www.techenclave.com/community/threads/how-to-bypass-bios-passwords.4273/
