Pull off exhaust vent. Clean. Remove back cover. Clean all airways free of lint and debris. Is this electric or gas dryer? If electric, plug back in and run dryer. Is the heating element glow red? Yes, check and make sure that air is now flowing freely out the back of the exhaust vent. No, replace heating element.

Whirlpool Gold Electric convection oven does not heat up.

Check for a broken wire or even broken element on top and bottom of unit. To do this, the unit must be unplugged or otherwise removed from power completely, then remove the screws that hold each heating element in place and gently pull out and inspect the wire connections. You should have just enough slack to check them. There should also be just enough slack to strip the wire clean to make the new connection to the heating element.

If the repair has been done before, you may need to fish a new lingth of high temp wire into the location.

Dryer starts (heat on) after 5-8 minutes heating cycle stops and only cool air run through.

your heating element need to be cleaned.......

1. pull the unit out from the wall
2. Remove the screws holding on the larger rear panel.
3. Using a vacume cleaner extension, remove as much debris as possible from all accessible components.
4. Clean out the dryer vent and the connection to the wall, making sure that air can pass easily.

THAT SHOULD DO YA. If the heat continues to cut off, you are dealing with a faulty heating element in which case you will be best off to purchase a new dryer. (replacing a heating element is typically the beginning of a failing unit)

Kenmore elite elec dryer, 110.64972300. runs no heat

Pull one wire off the element and start the dryer in a heat cycle . Check power from that wire to the cabinet . Touch the meter to the terminal you pulled that wire off of , and check that voltage . You cannot get correct voltage by checking across the element . Trace the wire NOT getting 120 volts . It will either go to the timer or motor . It will lead you to the problem .

Is not getting hot.have cleaned the lint basket and pulled the basket holder and cleaned behind it. still not getting hot. could it be the heating element?

Deffinitely the next thing I would test. If it is tumbling and the timer is working, save having a wiring issue, which is highly unlikely, it probably does need a heating element.

Dry not heating

Have you cleaned the exit hose thoroughly? Pulled the exhaust line and cleaned?
Thermostat controls heat. There is also a motor centrifugal switch, in the element circuit, that the motor closes to insure the motor is turning. Try another heat setting. There is more than one thermostat. You may have blown the 'thermal fuse' too, which requires replacement. The element has a contact in the 'timer' circuit too.
It is possible that your element has failed also.

Tripped high limit. Must clean the lint filter and the exhaust vent tube and all the way in to the dryer. Hot air exit is restricted.

Crosley CEDS774JQ0 electric dryer. It wasn't drying well so I pulled the vent line and cleaned it out well, ran the brush down the filter area too. Good venting now. But no heat, none at all. Ideas?

Do not know the model in particular, but by "not drying well" you mean not much heat, and then after cleaning there was no heat---would suspect the heating element (220Volts divides to 110 to make lower heat, like on a range burner) or operating on only 110v. The jostling could have completed the burn-out point of the heating element. Could check for continuity of the element (unplugged) using VOM (volt ohm) meter or flashlight bulb, wire, and battery--bulb metal to one end and wire to bulb tip and other end of wire to other end of element. If careful and safe access could check that voltage to heating unit is in fact 220 volts with VOM set to AC 600v setting (greater than 220v) unless automatic range setting VOM. (or check voltage to element first).
Also, remember when finished to check that vent hose is to inner vent pipe, not just to cabinet; lint build up in cabinet is a common reason for heating elements to burn out.

Dryer has no heat.

the heating element has probably burned open.
pull the element out and you'll probably find the break in the heating coil.
or possibly one of the leads going to the element has burned open.

good luck.......jay
