Bernina 580 needle bar is stuck in the down position. I was embroidering and all of a sudden the needle movement became sluggish and then stopped.

Rebooted machine, removed embroidery hoop, needle, bobbin, thread, embroidery device and put all back for regular sewing as well as feed dogs. Shank is still stuck, cannot even rotate the dial on the left.

Are you able to turn it by hand?

no the turn wheel is frozen solid. Took it to my Bernina dealer and they said it wasn't the needle shank but the Turn wheel, this happend once before and cost $78 to be fixed and this was during a class where someone else moved the Turn Wheel while the machine was on and broke a gear or something. This time I was just embroidering.

Stitch selector knob on bernina 600, not Deco, is stuck and cannot select needle position, However the width of stitch part of the knob is working. This knob has 2 parts, needle position and width control

Your machine (Bernina 600 Record) has most likely frozen (seized) due to lack of regular maintenance. Don't panic. It can be fixed with a lot of elbow grease, good quality oil and a hairdryer. The following method has resurrected several Berninas I've picked up as "nonworking."

Needle bar won't complete a full rotation, what's the fix?

The basting stitch lockout mechanism is either stuck or out of position.
You can try manually pulling down on the needle bar to see if it will lock back in, but it probably won't. May need to take it to a repair shop.

Unless it needs to be oiled, you may need a service call.

Bernina Artista 640 - While embroidering, the sewing needle hit a pin and broke. Now that I have replaced the needle, the alignment is off. The needle point comes down onto the embroidery presser foot.

This will probably need to be handled by a professional. With this particular Bernina, you might be able to adjust the needle position so that it is slightly off center and will not hit the presser foot. That would be a temporary fix, however. If you want to be able to thoroughly enjoy your sewing time, you will be happier if you take it to a certified Bernina repair site and let them adjust the needle position.

Needle movement

It sounds like the needle bar of the machine has come loose inside. This will need setting in the correct position height wise or you risk damaging the hook. Sorry but it may need to go to the repairer.
