SOURCE: Playstation 3 not working

You'll have to contact Sony for repair. I would highly recommend you NOT trying to fix this problem yourself.

You can reach Sony at 1-800-345-Sony

Or google: rescuetechla for my blog page on some common ways to fix the problem. (most of them won't work for most consoles, but if you want to try, you're more than welcome.)

SOURCE: Flashing red light and cannot eject game

PS3 has overheated and the thermal compound between the cpu/gpu and heat sync need to be replaced. the gpu and cpu may need to be reflowed as well. Had the same problem and fixed mine. The thermal compound was pretty much gone when i opened up the system. Also dont keep your ps3 on its side leave it flat this will help keep the compound from moving as much.

Wont turn on

On all Panasonic Toughbook Models,
if the unit will not turn on try the following:
Step 1: Unplug the unit.
Step 2: Take OUT the Battery Pack.
Step 3: Plug-in the unit.
Step 4: Turn On the unit.

The battery pack acts like a giant capacitor and can
prevent the unit to turn on, especially when the unit
was previously used on battery pack and was allowed
to fully discharge to below 5%.

When the unit is turned on WITHOUT a battery pack,
then a single Green light should show on the front
edge of the unit when the cover is open facing you.

When the unit is plugged in WITH a battery pack,
then you should see a yellow, orange or green light
which shows the battery is charging. When the unit is
turned back on, then you should see two (2) lights,
one green and the other yellow, orange or green.

If the unit is plugged back in and either with the battery
in or out you see no lights whatsoever, then chances are
that something is wrong with your AC Adapter/Power Supply.

Good Luck!

What are these 2 blinking lights on my irobot roomba?

"The Charge Indicator Light is located immediately to the right of the power button on Roomba Red and Roomba (sage). On Roomba Discovery and Discovery SE, the Charge Indicator Light is incorporated into the power button. Please refer to the table below to determine what the Charge Indicator Light is telling you.

* Pulsing Amber - Charging
* Green - Fully Charged
* Amber - Partially Discharged
* Red - Almost Fully Discharged
* Flashing Red - Fully Discharged"
At the end of a cleaning mission, Roomba will tell you if it has successfully completed it's mission or not:

GREEN = MISSION COMPLETE

YELLOW = MISSION ABANDONED (Check robot's brushes, etc.)

YELLOW RED POWER BUTTON = BATTERY DEPLETED (Scheduler Models)

RED YELLOW POWER BUTTON = BATTERY DEPLETED (Discovery Models)
number of beeps after ?uh-oh? :

No beeps: A wheel is stuck or is not touching the ground. Pick up the robot, place it down securely on the floor and touch the clean button to restart the cycle.

1 beep: The main brushes cannot turn. Turn over Roomba and remove the brush guard by pushing the two yellow tabs. Remove the brushes, clear any obstructions, and replace them again.

2 beeps: The side brush cannot turn. Turn over Roomba. Look to see if something is wrapped around the side brush. Remove the side brush with a screw driver and check for string or hair that may be wrapped around it.

3 beeps: The vacuum cannot run Remove and empty Roomba?s bin.

4 beeps: A wheel motor cannot run Your Roomba may be stuck or something may be wrapped around a wheel. Look for something wrapped around the wheels. Push them in and out and make sure they turn easily.

5 beeps: The cliff sensors have failed or are blocked. Turn over Roomba and clear any debris that might be caught underneath the front bumper in the cliff sensors. You can also use compressed air to clean them out.

6 beeps: Wheel obstruction or robot attempting to drive over an obstacle. Turn over Roomba and remove any obstructions that prevent the wheels from seating all the way up into Roomba?s body. Also, remove any obstacles that Roomba could drive over.

7 or 8 beeps: Not applicable Roomba?s beep codes do not include 7 or 8 beeps. If you are getting an error with 7 or 8 beeps, try counting again or contact iRobot Customer Care.

9 beeps: Sensor error Please contact iRobot Customer Care.

10 beeps: Roomba is stuck Pick up Roomba and start it again somewhere else. Use a virtual wall or other barrier to keep Roomba away from the
place it got stuck.

Your Roomba may be experiencing an issue where the battery is deeply discharged and may need to charge longer than the standard 3 hours. (or 7 hours if you have a standard charger)

Even with the charging light showing green (this indicates a fully charged battery) the robot is still charging. If your Roomba exhibits behavior where it charges for a short time then runs for a short time you will need to do the following.

1. Plug the charger into Roomba (if you have a home base be sure to plug directly into Roomba instead of using the home base, this will ensure the robot's charging cycle is not interrupted.)

2. After the Roomba's charging indicator goes to solid green please keep the Roomba on the charger for an additional 72 hours. (3 days)

3. After the 72 hours (3 days) has passed, turn your Roomba on and begin a normal cleaning cycle. If this works successfully it may take several uses for the battery to get back up to the performance it once had.

If this does not correct the problem, please call customer support at 877-855-8593

Forgot the combination to the lock. Is there a way to retrieve the combination or return it to its factory default combination 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

The instructions below are copied from the programming instructions (page 11):

ERASE ALL PROGRAMMING
(The "out of box" factory default will be restored)
1. At the back of the lock, remove the screw at the bottom of
the lock housing and remove the cover.
2. Take out the battery pack and remove battery power by disconnecting
the battery pack.
3. Plug in the (provided) male shunt connector into the yellow
wire female connector.
4. With shunt connector connected, re-connect the battery
pack. The lock will immediately sound 3 short beeps (if
these 3 beeps are not heard, then restart at step 2).
5. The lock will then sound more slow beeps, 1 beep for every
second it takes to clear the memory.
6. After a few more seconds, the LED will slowly alternate between
flashing red and green--disconnect the yellow wire
shunt connector.
7. The LED will continue to slowly flash green and red for 25
seconds. To enroll Function Cards, proceed immediately
as follows:
• With the lock LED slowly alternating between flashing
red and green, present the Function Card #1
to the lock. The lock will sound 5 slow beeps.
• The lock LED will flash green rapidly. The lock is
ready to enroll the Function Cards.
• Re-present Function Card #1 to the lock. The
lock LED will flash green then red, with two beeps
(indicating the card was enrolled successfully).
• Present Function Card #2 to the lock. Again, the
lock LED will flash green then red, with two beeps.
• Continue to present, in order, Function Cards 3-
9. Each time a new Function Card is presented, the
lock LED will flash green then red, with two beeps.
After the 9th Function card is presented, the lock LED will flash
green twice, sound two beeps, and will then remain silent,
ready for use. Note: If the lock continues to beep after presenting
the 9th Function Card, check to verify that the yellow
wire shunt is disconnected.
Note: If you only wish to use the first 3 Function Cards, simply
allow the lock to "time out" after 30 seconds.

Here is the link to the complete instructions, in PDF form. You will need Adobe Acrobat or equivalent to view them:

When I hooked up my PS3 to several TVs and tried to turn it on, the green light came on to show that it was running, but nothing would happen on the monitor. I tried both the HDMI and Red Yellow and White...

You can try resetting the display settings. What you need to do is plug in the input that you would like to use, whether it is the HDMI cord or your composite cable, and then press and hold the power button. It will beep once when it turns on, then continue to hold it and it will beep 3 times. Once it has beeped 3 times, you can release the power and it should start up with the input working just fine. If not I would suggest getting a hold of Sony to try their troubleshooting techniques and possibly getting your console repaired.

When I turn on my ps3 model cechg01, it blinks the green light a couple times then shuts itself off. No other color lights just the green one, then beeps three times and shuts off.. Can anybody help narrow...

When you plug in your system with the power cable and turn the toggle switch (in the back) do you see the red stand by light?

The red and yellow light comes from 1 bulb and the green and blu light comes from another..

If you have the YLOD and your yellow/red light is out, you will only see the green light.

I am really interested in your problem.

Do this to check your status: If you can do this function below but not any other, chances are, you do have the YLOD. It can be fixed.

Power off the unit using the toggle switch on the back. Hold down the 'eject' button and turn the toggle switch back from off to on. This will run a fan test and should eject your disc. Remember, this will only work on the 20, 40g models. Not the backwards compatible units with the 4 usb port holes and the memory card slots.
