SOURCE: Wireless thermo clock not reading outside temp

I've had a similar problem with another model, an Oregon Scientific Model IWA-80055 Wireless Thermo Clock, in which when I replaced the batteries in the remote sensor, the clock would not read the temperature from the remote sensor.
I found it fairly consistent to solve this by taking a battery out of place in the clock and putting it back in.  Unfortunately this also messed up the clock's time and date.  This is also in the instructions catalogue for the device, check and see if yours gives a similar solution.

SOURCE: Taylor 1542 wireless thermometer - how to install remote batteries

Flip up the curved cover latch and then pry open the top of the battery compartment cover with a long fingernail, small screw driver or coin. I agree it could be easier.

SOURCE: skyscan atomic clock problem

Look carefully at the back of your clock for a reset button. The temp may have encountered a problem and stopped working. Also, be sure the battery is fresh. Hope this helps.

My atomic clock does not read outside temp

Bring outside temp sensor indoors. Remove batteries from both remote and base. replace outside first with fresh batteries (Alkaline recommended). Then the base. Make sure they are on the same channel. When display restored, you can take the remote back outside.

I have replaced the batteries on. My model no:PP-SIRMT1. The device will not transmit the outside temp to the clock radio. What's next?

My pp-sirmt1 outdoor remote sensor display is blank and the clock displays "- -" for outdoor. I have changed both the remote and clock potteries even though they read "Good" on a battery tester. Can I purchase a replacement outdoor sensor unit?

Replaced batteries, outsid temp. does not display

Base Station Battery Installation
·Remove the printed vinyl label from the LCD screen of the base station
·Position the remote sensor near the base station
·Open the battery compartment at the back of the base station and insert (2) AA batteries according to the polarity markings. Replace the battery compartment cover.
·Within a short time the RF signal icon (located to the left of the outdoor temperature channel indicator) will start flashing. This indicates that the base station is ready to pick up the RF outdoor temperature signal from the remote sensor. It will continue to flash for 3 minutes or until the signal from the remote sensor is detected.

Register the Remote Sensor
·Open the battery compartment at the back of the remote sensor and slide the channel selector switch to your desired channel. For the first remote you may select any channel, for additional remotes select any unused channel
·Insert (2) AAA batteries according to the polarity markings. Be sure to install the batteries in the remote within the time that the RF signal icon is flashing on the base station.

Remote signal not received by Shift 3 projection alarm clock

1) Does the remote have batteries? See other posts that describe how to do this (4 screws in back need to be removed). Temperature should be displayed in small window of the sending unit if it's working.
2) Hold Channel button for 3 seconds until it beeps - the unit then searches for a signal.

Also,

If you have lost the outside temperature on the clock display after replacing the transmitter battery then do the following:

1. Make sure you have good batteries installed in the remote transmitter
2. Remove the batteries from the main clock and keep them out until the clock display disappers.
3. Re-install the batteries in the clock.
4. Wait until the display returns and includes the outside temperature display as well.
5. Set the clock again for current time/date etc.
6. Bingo. You are in business.

Remote Sensor

make sure your time is set and the atomic clock time is recieved, then leaving the rear cover off of the transmitter, push the "tx" button not the "c/f" that is just for centegrade or ferenhight. you will see the red light on the front of reciever flash in a few seconds. The temp should display on your clock screen. If not, did the red l.e.d. light on transmitter flash. If not, its not sending data to clock. I have to reset and hit transmit every time I replace batteries on transmitter. Had no problems for over 2 years of using outside. If your not getting a reading with transmitter sitting next to clock after hitting "tx" button you may have defective transmitter.
