If you have the technical knowledge , you can adjust , bend , modify anything to make the operation suitable for you
if not take it to an engineering shop that can do the job

How to adjust governor on a Tecumseh hmsk80?

Static Governor Adjust.

With the engine stopped, loosen the screw holding the
governor clamp on the governor lever. Rotate the clamp in
a direction that will force the throttle shaft open and allow
the governor follower arm to rest on the governor spool.
Push the governor lever connected to the throttle to the
wide open throttle position. Hold the lever and clamp in
this position while tightening the screw.

What is the lever for

There are several
the right hand tiller leaver is for adjusting the tiller pitch
the left hand tiller leaver is the hand brake - keep that lubricated and squirt a bit of wd40 down the inside of the brake cable if you can.
The leaver on the right of the seat post is the motor brake freewheel leaver, the seat leavers are for swivel, back pitch.

ADJUST FUEL GAUGE FLOATS 2003 SOFTAIL

Hi Anonymous, always check your instrument fuses first also you could have a faulty sending unit or guage, there could be a problem with your wiring. On models with the fuel gauge posing as a left hand fuel cap the gauge is a press fit do not try to unscrew it, simply ample force lift up in a rocking motion to remove gauge. Disconnect wires to the gauge and with a set of positive and negative jumpers from the battery connect the positive jumper and flash the negative, gauge should peg full, if not replace gauge. With a test light check for power to the sending unit, then remove the sending unit and manually operate the float arm slowly with the correct wiring hooked up to the fuel gauge and sending unit and the ignition on, the gauge should respond accordingly if not replace the float arm assembly. For a free wiring diagram please visit the website below. Good luck and have nice day.

My rear tine tiller lurches out of control when I use it

Hi it sounds like you are trying too till the soil with the tiller in the fast position and probably too deep for your first pass. Really the fast position is for transporting the tiller from the field. Try putting the tiller in slow which would be the down position. Turn the throttle all the way foward, engage the tines and push your depth rod on the back down to where it is only going into the soil about four inches or even less depending on the hardnes of the soil. Even though a Troy is the best Tiller made it will try to run away with you when your trying to hog the soil all at once. Your depth setting is very important and people seem to forget the importance of adjusting it. Try these things, and remember to alway's start your tilling in the slow full throttle position. Lowering your depth a little at a time. Till you find the appropriete feed for your speed.
