Question about Electrolux Dryers
I have a Electrolux EDV505 cloths dryer that when you pres start the drum moves slightly but dose not turn all you hear is a buzzing noise, have replaced control board as per suggestions on trouble shooting web pages but has not fixed, is this the capacitor or the motor at fault?
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

no problem with motor or control board. fault is with the motor capacitor only. this is often attached to the motor or near it. the value of the capacitor will be printed on it (usually about 8uf) and you should be able to source from an electrical spares shop

I assume you fitted the right value capacitor and connected it up correctly,if you have then slip the belt of the motor, and make sure it is free to turn with no resistance.
Try it without the belt on, if it runs o/k then problem is elsewhere, if it still does not run , then you could have faulty motor, and or timer. That is as much as I can help you.
Plz rate my solution.

SOURCE: Loud buzzing noise
seems the the motor is ****! avoid switching it more further to prevent its motor from burning!
motor could be stuck due to rust build-up.
or something might have jammed along the motor area or along the rotating part.
