I was shredding paper when it started making a loud grinding noise and wouldn't accept any more paper. I've tried running it back and forth, but it only goes, maybe half way, either way, and it still making the grinding noise. It almost sounds like a tooth is out of line.
This is a very common problem. Go out to the hardware store and buy some silicone spray. With the shredder unplugged, spray a good amount of the silicone inside all of the teeth and try to get all sides.
Plug it back in and work it back and forth a few times. It should work better with less noise now.

My DM15C stops after a certain length of time (usually about the length of 3/4 of a piece of paper, the "full" light come on, and I have to turn the unit on/off switch off and then back on to reset it. This has happened almost from the first use. I have cleaned the sensors many times to no avail.
The shredder reverses with no problem; however all of a sudden it won't shred the way it is supposed...
