I did what was advised but i get a green screen. what do i do now?

Is entire screen green or just tint range will not move?

Look at set with color off to zero and also try different inputs.

Most of the times this is a screen issue. Meaning that you will have to change your screen eventually.
To be sure, connect the laptop to an external monitor and look at the display of that screen.
If you see the same green line, then the motherboard could be defect.
If you do not see the green line, then there is something wrong with your laptop screen.

If the screen is malfunctioning, the first thing you should do, is open the laptop, and check the wiring of the screen. If this does not solve the error, you should replace the screen.

lamp needs replacing

Upon loading press F2 or del to enter bios setup and change the settings to display the acer welcome screen and the one you said about Microsoft logo and white box with green lines, you cant by pass it because it's windows loading screen

sounds like your green crt is shorting let me know if you need more assitance or if you would like to know where you can purchase a crt at.

You may have had a power surge resulting in the screen being magnetised or else the colour amp may have failed. refer to your local tv repairer. Good Luck, Jus004

replace the capacitor 10/250 volt or all 250 volt capacitors around the plyback section. and check also the supply of RGB it is 180 volt.

Green Screen with some lines lines are called retrace lines. it is due to maybe dry soldered or no green drive signal. This problem can be fixed by complete soldering in crt board. 1 green video supply absent 2 loose contact in green skt in crt board 3 crt board loose 4 no green drive signal.
