Does the unit suppose to retain the water?

I was given a Everstar MPM 1-10CR portable AC with no users guide
does the tube suppose to connect to something( because i do see 2 tubes in the back) because right now I am putting one of the tubes in a container to catch the run off water when i run it as a ac

No. The unit is not supposed to retain water. By product of a/c or
refridgeration is water due to air being cooled below dew point of air.
(Check your uninsulated cold water pipes on a hot, humid day. They
are usually sweating.) The tubing should be routed to drain or outdoors.
