Sounds like you need to take the carb. apart and clean it. I like to use a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning teeth), to clean the small ports in carb. they work great for this job. Make sure to either clean or replace the small screen in thcarb. as well.

SOURCE: Craftsman chain saw only runs short time

Craftsman is made by Poulan.
How old is the saw? Have you checked for split fuel hoses? Change the cc to model number (2.2cc Craftsman is often Model 2200 Poulan) and try to find an IPL http://www.ordertree.com/cms/illustrated-parts-list/9788.html. This will show hose routing. As a last resort you may try the "Chainsaw forum here http://www.arboristsite.com/. These are good guys but you will be flamed for buying a homeowner saw.

I'd put the filter back on.

SOURCE: repairing fuel line on craftsman 32cc weed trimmer.

Cut the end of the line at a sharp angle. Spray WD-40 on the line and fuel tank hole. Slowly screw the line in the tank far enough so you can connect the fuel filter if you are replacing that line. If not just push the line into the tank if you have a two line system. Remember on the fuel primer, the long tip has the line going to the tank, and the short tip has the fuel line going to the carb.

Check out the tubing to the carb. If it is good then the top part of the carb with the check valves is defective. If so, you need a new carb since those suckers cannot be fixed.

Primer bulb will not prime

Hello Tony Galvan, I had to replace the fuel lines to keep from sucking air when I pressed on the primer bulb. Also, I took the carburetor apart and found the gasket was good by holding it up to the sunlight, no light came through indicating holes in the gasket. Then I took a magnifying glass and looked at the bottom half of the carburetor and noticed that a soft film of what looks like lint from a dryer had accumulated on a screen mesh type of filter. Once I cleaned the debris away, the weed wacker started every time. I pulled with a full choke and partially wants to start. Then moved the choke to half choke and pressed on the throttle fully and pulled, it started! But you must at least hold the throttle close to full until 10 seconds for the engine to warm up. Then move the choke to idle. Hope this helps.

My weed eater will run for about 3-5 seconds in the half choke position, but turns off every time. My instructions say to leave it running in the half choke position for about 10 seconds and then push it...

Carburetor. It is always the carburetor 90% of the time on these. There are gaskets and diaphragms in these little carburetors that go bad and periodically need to be replaced. The introduction of ethanol into our pump gas has only hastened this situation. Your carburetor is dying "lean" as they say, and is a result of lack of fuel flow through the idle jet and the high speed jet...probably due to a stiff fuel pump diaphragm and metering diaphragm. They sell a little bag with replacement parts to make it work right again. It is called a G & D kit (gasket and diaphragm). You HAVE to know the manufacturer and the model number of the carburetor to order the right one though.

My Craftsman 32CC weed trimmer wont start. I believe no gas is getting into the carb, becuase if I pour a small amount of gas directly into the carb it starts, but then quickly dies.

Sounds like you will need to clean your carburetor.
Be sure to use compressed air to blow out all the fuel and air passages.
Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor a few times, and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets, but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
If the mower/weedeater is over a couple years old, then I also recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, You will first seat the jet screws and count the number of turns it takes to seat the jets from their original position.
That way when you go to put the jets back in, you know how many turns they were in/out.
