You remove the refrigerant, remove and replace the compressor with new one, install a schraeder valve and using a vacuum pump remove all air from system to -30 lbs and turn off pump to make sure that the pressure holds and there are no leaks in piping. Then charge unit with the correct amount of refrigerant (Critical) and you are good to go.

Ice cube dispenser not working

Hi there, did you find the answer to this problem? We have exactly the same issue. We noticed a burnt smell in the freezer, mainly transferring to our hands when we touched packaging. The ice dispenser was working fine but the ice started to taste funny (a bit like burnt plastic) and had black bits in it. We took it out to clean the tray and since putting it back in, it just won't work. We don't know if we have put it back in wrong or if something has blown. We can still hear the motor when we try to press for ice, but nothing comes out. No water is making its way into the ice cube tray to form the ice, but we still have cold running water. I would be so grateful for any help. Thanks

We have a whirlpool american fridge freezer leaking gas the engineer has been out 3 times , firstly we were told that the motor had blew one of the boards was replaced didn't work then motor repla

No! Gas leakage is only caused by bad joints, stress cracks or holes in the pipework. Also bad seals on the compressor.

The only 'motor' is the condenser fan motor. The other sort of motor is the Compressor.

I would cut your losses, ask them to recover all the parts installed and give you credit and buy a new refrigerator. The reasoning is that their diagnosis did not fix the problem.

Try hoovering the cooling rad on the back of the fridge freezer, as this tend to clog up with dust and other matter, which reduces the cooling efficiency

Samsung american style fridge/freezer needs repairing

Spray a good quantity of WD-40 on the spindle of the fan motor where it enters the motor itself. This should get the fan working smoothly with no noise. This will probably solve the other problems, as the fan prevents various components from overheating and shutting down.
