Reverse button on Husqvarna DS1 not working! Machine 10 yrs old and third time with this issue! Sick of sending to be fixed! Why is this happening every 2 yrs?

Well, when my sewing machine did this, I took a hair dryer and held it over the reverse lever for about 5 minutes. I seemed to loosen it up and worked fine after that. When machines sit, the oil can sometimes harden or dry up. Try it and I hope it works.

How to fix a Husqvarna sewing machine 2000SL 6460 stuck in reverse

A machine stuck in reverse usually means the step motor controlling the movement of the feed dogs has gone bad. You will need to have it serviced by a Viking Service Tech. You can find a dealer near you by using the link 'Locate a Dealer' at the Husqvarna Viking Website - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us

You start by getting a service manual. Soundss like the reverse switch quit working. If you have electricial knoledge , bypass or jump pout switch in reverse direction( with it upnplugged, of course, to confirm dianoisis.

Won't operate. Won't go forward or in reverse, happened all of the sudden. Hand crank fine, but the whirring sound comes from that area.

it's possible that something in the machine has come loose or broken
it would have to be serviced at a sewing machine shop

Try setting the machine in direct sunlight with the back cover off and let it get nice and warm. It might even need a little assistance from a hair drier. Warm the area directly behind the reverse button. If you can get it to move a little, you will see which parts are moving. Use Tri-Flow on these parts and they may come loose without having to take it in for service. DO NOT USE WD-40 or 3-IN-1 oil. Go to a bicycle shop and get a small bottle of Tri-Flow liquid. If that won't work, any authorized Husqvarna Viking repair center should be able to take care of it for you. Don't force anything too hard. If you break anything, you may not be able to find parts as they are no longer available from the manufacturer.

Our machine will not reverse sew, how can we fix this problem?

Does you machine go in reverse and just not sew in reverse? If this is the case you might have a feed timing problem. Clarify your exact situation.
