Hi,

Perform the below steps to power reset the Camera.
Turn off the Camera.
Remove the battery pack.
Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
Allow the Camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Memory card error

Hi,

This seems to be a known issue with the Canon camera's to display Memory card error.

Give this a try
1. Remove the card from camera and wait for sometime ( 1-2 minute ) and re-inserting the card.
2. If this does not work, you need a card reader to read/view images on your PC ( since you are not able to access the card in your camera )
3. If you are not able to access/view the images from Card, click on the link below to recover the images from card - Recover images
When you open the webpage, click on the Download Now option to download the software ( it is free )
4. Try this fix to resolve the issue, Sometimes it takes long time for the camera to load the images and it results in memory card error - Click on the link to download the fix - Firmware Update
5. Try using a SD card with less memory like 1 GB card or max 2 GB for better access of card in camera.

Hope this is helpful.

My camera has been dropped and lens will not open the on the screen it says to turn the power off and on again what can i do without having to take it to get repaired

Turn the Power Off and On again:

This may be an issue with the Lens unit in the Camera, as it is

stuck. This can be resolved by trying the troubleshooting steps

like Power resetting and Factory resetting.

Power resetting:
Remove the batteries from the Camera.
Press and hold the POWER BUTTON of the Camera for 15

seconds.
Then, reinsert the batteries after 1 minute.

Factory resetting:(This can be performed only if the Menu is

accessible)
To reset the Camera, select the INITIALIZE Option from the

SET UP1 Menu of the Camera to OK.
Home-->Settings-->Main Settings 1-->Initialize-->OK

If the issue is not resolved after trying the above troubleshooting steps, service may be required.

When turned on the screen simply say's ACCESS what can i do to resolve this? Please help!

Try resetting and Power resetting the Camera to resolve the issue.

To reset the Camera to the Factory settings, Initialize it by accessing the Menu items.
Steps to find the "Initialize" option.
HOME/MENU-->Settings-->Main Settings-->Mainsettings1-->Initialize-->OK.
This should reset the Camera to factory defaults.
Also this will resolve all the issues regarding the settings in the Camera.

To Power reset all the power components of the Camera, remove the battery for at least one minute.

If these two steps did not resolve the issue, then Camera may require a service.

I press power and the lens opens and shuts but dows not allow me to take picture. The screen reads ''tune the power off an on again'' but turning powers on/off does resolve anything.

Hi!

You may try removing the Battery from the Camera then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Then, reinsert the Battery and turn the Camera ON. Please make sure that the Battery pack is fully charged. Next, check if the Menu options or home screen is accessible. Then try resetting the Camera to the original factory settings.

If the issue persists even after performing all the above steps then service is required.

Blue screen access error when viewing or taking pics or vids

Please try to take as many pictures from memory stick as you can then format memory stick through format option in setup.
Hope this will resolve this blue access issue.
You can use another memory stick like 1GB in this camera.
