Is the vehicle overheating or is the gauge in the instrument cluster just showing it is overheating ? What's the temp. of the engine ? Using a infrared temp gun point at the upper radiator hose at the engine . At 223 degress the computer should turn on the cooling fan's , or another way to tell would be to hook up a professional scan tool a view coolant temp sensor data , what temp is the PCM seeing . Do the cooling fans come on ? Is the check engine light on ? Probably would be if the coolant temp. sensor was bad ! Testing to find the problem is the correct way to a fix , not guessing ! The electronics on your vehicle are very complex , computer controlled . Your best bet would be to take it to a qualified repair shop .

= 07 ford five hundred ac problems

First off,is the ac compressor turning? If so are the large line, near where you put freon in,cold? If the low side lines(large lines)are cold and sweating, and the evaporator box is dripping water on the ground, then the ac is most likely fine. There is a temp door in the ac blower box, that moves for hot,or cold when you select these comfort levels. This door is most likely controlled by a actuator motor. This motor is most likely bad.If it is control by vacuum, look for a broken vacuum hose,or one that has come loose under hood.
