SOURCE: paper jam
if you cleared the paper jam an your printer still shows this paper jam, you may try this:
1. after you clear the paper jam, turn off an on the printer.
2. if above advice is not working you may try to look more carefully (with a flashlight maybe) if a small piece of paper is not blocking the paper jam sensor.
3. unfortunately this is a job for a qualify serviceman.
4. in less then 2-3 % of cases is a defective sensor, and must be replace by a serviceman.

SOURCE: in CLC 1150 When power
There are rollers that cling on to the paper and move it through
the machine. When the rollers are worn down they do not grip the paper. For a
short fix you can get something rough like sandpaper, brillo pad, etc, and
gently scratch the rollers to give them some traction. This will temporarily
solve your problem until you can get the rollers replaced.

SOURCE: Epson Photo RX420 showing paper
I've had exactly the same problem. There was no bits of paper or specks of dust, fluff, etc. Switched on and off to no avail. Eventually I gave it a good old fashioned whack on the sides and switched it off and on again. It worked! The machine is 5 years old and now working beautifully. I don't want to encourage this practice – obviously you don't want to break anything inside so do it carefully, and only after checking all other possibilities.

Make sure that all rollers in the paper tray is working properly. If not, then this might be the reason why your having this issue. Try calling your manufacturer to have it replaced, if it's still under warranty.

Printers are very sensitive to little bits of torn paper in the paper path. Often you can't see it, but the printer KNOWS. So you have to keep looking. Read carefully the jam clearance procedures in your user guide (usually found on the manufacturer website).
