SOURCE: Whirlpool Side by Side Ice Maker Not Making Ice

If you have the type of ice maker that has an ice bin on the freezer door, then there are instructions available at www.AnyoneCanFixIt.com to fix the ice maker problem. They also sell the part that is sometimes required to repair this common problem on the ice maker. The problem is notorious on these refrigerators that were made around 2004 and later. The ice maker will usually go out within 1-2 years. They have redesigned a part to eliminate the problem.

SOURCE: where are the bin full sensors located for

It is a set of eyes located in the very back right and left hand side where the ice drops into the bin. Take some ice machine cleaner and wipe down the eyes. You should be able to pull the holders out to get to them better.

Clean the bin eyes found in the back of the ice machine where the shoot narrows. Look on the left and right sides of the unit, you will see plastic vanes that are pushed into rubber grommets. Just pull the eyes out and clean with ice machine cleaner.

Where are the bin full sensors located for cme256ws-1c full light on will not make ice

The bin full sensors are located behind the water sump tray. Pull the front cover off remove the white plastic guard. Remove the ice deflector grate that is in the water sump tray. Now look where the ice falls down into the bin to the right and left side there is where the bin sensors are you have to pull them sideways you can also open the control panel and look where the bin sensor wire runs and follow it. pull the bin sensors and clean the eyes or replace them.

Ice machine keeps going to "off" mode. detects full harvest but no ice made. also condenser fan doesnt seem to be working.

o[en bin and look at your sensors, more then likely they have a scaley build up. the sensors are located below the ice maker and before the bin. It looks like a button of sorts one on each side, you can use a tooth brush to clean them. This should fix the problem
