Question about Miele Vacuums
On using my vacuum this week I noticed a reduction in power. I opened the cleaner to see that the bag had over-filled and debris was evident throughout. I promptly removed the bag and proceeded to give it a good clean with a borrowed vacuum. I also used water to clean the base. (With hindsight I realise that this was a mistake!) However, after a couple of days of 'airing' the vacuum I fitted 2 new Miele filters, a new Miele bag, checked that the hose and turbo head were free of debris/blockages. The cover is closing tightly. The motor works (no noises) however the reduction in power remains unchanged. Meanwhile, I have removed all screws, however, I have not been able to remove the switch head due to the screws being in an inaccessible position. I have tried removing the switch control by trying to press in the two grey on/off and rewind switch covers .... without success! I look forward to receiving your advice as to how I can remove the top cover in order to inspect the motor. (I'm just hoping that I can get away with removing debris!) Many thanks. :-)

SOURCE: Hoover Alpina 2 1300 cleaner. I
Move covers (forcibly !) away from the centreline of cleaner then move to rear until released. The covers are held by slide catches on inner edges.

What you need to do is take it apart and look for any carpet peices dug up in there preventing the motor to spin. Also go look for another filter for it and if you google it you can probably get instructions or if you still have the book.
