Can you suggest what the problem may be? Humidifier not producing steam.

Good day My Elektra Health Plus Humidifier is 2yrs old. It's turning on and there is a sound that sounds like an engine is running but no steam is not coming out. The button to turn it on is also slightly loose. Can you recommend a repairman in Pretoria, South Africa?

SOURCE: sunbeam ultrasonic humidifier runs but produces no mist

It sounds very much like the transducer has failed. This is likely a crystal transducer and since they produce the agitation that should cause a mist, they are running continuously; not a good thing for something that is trying to shake iteslf apart all the time. These require input from a circuit that produces the fairly high level of power needed to drive the crystal so it could also be the source of the problem.
This isn't something an owner is able to diagnose unless they have some technical training.

SOURCE: We have a 4 month

Sounds like the steam wand is getting blocked some where either at the metal end or in the parnello wand if you machine has one at the end of the steam wand, if both of those are clean then try this push in on the steam knob if that works then tap rod assemble or steam valve needs to be replaced, make sure to ask about the stainless steel valve instead of the plastic one.

SOURCE: Spitting noises and gushing water

Another alternative to vinegar is to use lemon juice. About 1 cup to a tank of water should do the trick. It smells much better than vinegar and also has the acid content to clean the vaporizer.

HE440A Steam Power Humidifier

The most common cause of overflow is when hard water deposits build up and prevent the float from closing. You'll have to open up the unit, make sure there's no water in it, and clean out any mineral deposits.

The problem with these steam producing units is that there is no built in way to remove those deposits automatically. The water comes in, evaporates, and leaves anything else that was suspended in it behind.

Whole House Humidifiers ? The Types and Benefits of the Furnace Humidifier

As your gas furnace or other type of furnace heats the air in your house it will be forcing the moisture out of the air. To maintain the proper comfort and to keep things from cracking from lack of moisture you need to install a furnace humidifier.

Furnace humidifiers offer many health benefits. They help to relieve the irritation of breathing dry air. More humidity in the air has shown in studies to lead to healthier lungs and fewer illnesses. To many people, another very important benefit of installing a good furnace humidifier is that the addition of more humidity to the space during cold-weather months allows for you to lower your temperature setting on the thermostat while still maintaining comfort.

If you are already looking for a furnace humidifier, you are probably familiar with many of the great benefits of installing one in your home or office. A good furnace humidifier will also help alleviate some symptoms associated with asthma or allergies as well. A good furnace humidifier can also help you to prevent cracks in your precious wood. Another great benefit of installing a furnace humidifier is that it will help eliminate static electricity.

The three most common types of humidifier are bypass furnace humidifiers, the power spray furnace humidifiers, and also steam furnace humidifiers. The bypass humidifier seems to be the most common furnace humidifier is the bypass humidifier.

All of the different types of humidifiers need to have a lot of maintenance. On the pad type humidifiers you need to clean or change to pads often. On spray type humidifiers the nozzle and pad will need to be changed or cleaned yearly. On the best types of humidifier is the steam furnace humidifier. They produce the most humidity but are very expensive and do require more regular maintenance and upkeep then the other types of humidifier.

A humidifier can be a fantastic addition to your hot air heating system. The type of humidifier that you need to have will often be dependent on the size of the space you are planning to serve. Also, do you need precise control or not? Overall a humidifier is often a must have item if you are heating with hot air heat. Dry air is not any fun and causes many problems. Put up with the time you will need to invest in cleaning and servicing your humidifier. Having the proper amount of moisture in your house will pay you back many times over.

When i first got it, it was working grate after 3 days it dosent produce much steam as before u can even smell it

The humidifier may be partially clogged with mineral scale. Especially, if you're using well water. It can be cleaned by running the humidifier with with a 50/50 solution of Bottled Distilled Water and White Vinegar in it. Then flushing it with bottled distilled water through another complete cycle.

In the the future, you may want to use Bottled Distilled Water rather than tap water. It's inexpensive (about $1.00 per gallon) and can purchased at most super markets and pharmacies.

Hope this helps solve your problem.

My humidifier is not working. I have cleaned the heating element. When plugged in the green turns on but that is it. The elements are not heating up to begin the vapor process.

Add salt. No more then 1/2 to 3/4tps max depending on the mineral content in your area.

The unit has two electrodes dipped into the water. Since water its self is none conductive without heavy minerals such as iron and such. You will have to add a small amount of salt until current starts flowing between the electrodes. I suggest a small pinch of salt each try until it produces the steam effect you desire.

I'm looking for Elektra S1 Owner.s manual

if you have 2 gauges, one shows from 0 up to 3 bar second from 0 up to 16 bar.

  1. the gauge o - 3 shows steam pressure and it should be from 1.1 up to 1.5 bar
  2. if you have second gauge you look it during brewing coffee, it should be from 7 up to 9 bar(it shows the pressure of pump.
anyway becouse it is old machine you should compare the gauge with new one(ehamle for the steam attach to steam pipe one gauge and live valve open) than you will know if it is showing true values.

Thick Cloud of Steam

I would say that the beauty of steam is that it has to get through the 100 degree temperature to leave the aqueous state - i.e. to move from a liquid to a gas.

The benefit of that is that any organizums in the water should be killed as a result of that process. Its possible that it smelt musty or old stagnant water smells but to be honest there is little change of harm to the little ones.

Best wishes

No moisture

Is the level of water dropping? If so, the humidifier is working. If you have a cool air humidifier you won't see any steam or anything at all. You will just feel cool air. Watch the water level and see what happens.

Good Luck.
