SOURCE: Are kitchen bar stools any different from commercial (pubs/bars) bar stools?

Essentially, there is no difference in the function of the stool; however the height varies slightly. Kitchen bar stools are 23-28 inches from floor to seat whereas commercial bar stools measure 29-32 inches.

How can I properly determine the amount of bar stools that will fit at the counter of my bar?

The safest method to measure the amount of stools needed is to measure the length of the counter top and then divide that number by two to roughly determine the number of stools that should fit at the counter.

What type of bar stool is best for overweight individuals?

The best type of bar stool for someone who is overweight to sit in is a floor mounted stool. This type of stool is securely attached with bolts to the floor beneath it, ensuring better support and stability. If you don't want to bolt down your stools, your next best option is to get a four-legged stool. Four-leg bar stools disperse the weight of the person sitting on them evenly. On the downside, four-leg stools have a higher risk of tipping over.

I have a few swivel bar stools in my kitchen but two of them are squeaking, how can I fix them?

First turn the stool on its side and check all the bolts on the legs. If they are ok, rest the bar stool upside down so you can get a look at the underneath of the seat. Check the bolts there too. Once you are sure all bolts have been tightened return the stool to its upright position. Next you will need a can of high quality lubricant which you will need to apply to any squeaking area.

I am opening a small pub and will obviously need some bar stools; however I was wondering if someone could help me understand how much space is needed.

There are several factors you need to consider before buying bar stools for your pub. First, think about floor space (the amount of physical room on the floor the bar will use). The average bar stool will take up two square feet of floor space. Next is the height of the stools; which will obviously be directly affected by the height of the bar. There should be 10-12 inches from the height of the stool and the top of the bar. Lastly, you need to consider the distance between the stools themselves, for fear of overcrowding.
