Blade still running after lever is disenagaged on Sears Craftsman LT2000 2010 riding mower.

the moveable arm that the blade engage pulley is attached to has a hole for a spring as well as the deck (or at least an attached immoveable bracket). spring goes there to bring the blades to a stop when putting the lever in the off possition.

I bought a new deck belt # 954-04062 and its too long. i dont have the old belt. why doesnt it fit? this is what it calls for on the yard machine 38 inch deck

Do you have a large and very tight spring at the back of the mower body?? This needs to be pulled back to the triangle metal piece usually welded to the rear end axle. The spring pulls the entire mower housing back toward the rearend and tightens your new belt. John

Mfirefighter173@aol.comhave a craftsman 17 hp lawn tractor and dont know were to put the spring that engages the mower blades, had to take apart to put in new mandril and cant seem to find were to put this...

There are four pulleys on the deck. Two for the blades, one idler, and one tensioning. The two smaller ones are the idler and tensioning. The tensioning is the one on the right. The post coming out the top of the pulley is where the spring goes, it slides over the top and a clip goes throught the hole at the top of it to retain the spring.

I hope this helps.

Toro zreo turn lawn mower... mower runs but won't go when engaged. found a large spring broken?

This spring is the tensioner for the drive belt. visit www.arcolawn.com to look up your model and get the parts shipped to you.
I recommend a hook or rope to install it.

As long as your deck mounts match up then you should be good to go. You might have to change to a different sized belt though. Other than that everything should be fine.

Trying to replace ext spring on lawnflite 548 can't get the spring to stretch the last inch.

You don't specify which spring but if you take a piece of starter cord, tie it in a loop and hook it on the loose end of the spring, put in a long screwdriver, a piece of broom handle or anything similar, it will give you a lot more leverage to pull the spring. Once you get it to where it needs to go, you can maneuver it to get it hooked then just cut the rope and pull it out
